I am looking for a receiver that I can hook up my powered JBL 305s to and be able to stream tidal from my phone as well as use them as tv speakers to replace an old sound bar. Will this work for those uses? In the future I want to setup a 3.1 passive speakers for cable tv/movies while being able to switch over to powered monitors via Bluetooth for music. Would this work for all of those things? I really wanted to stay under $300 for a receiver that has 7.1 as well as Dolby atoms enabled (for the future) with bluetooth

RareAirsIt will not work with powered speakers, and will likely not pair with any bluetooth speaker device as it is a speaker device. I don't think you will find any receiver that will do that by bluetooth. What it sounds like is you want a 2nd zone and maybe preamp outputs. This receiver doesn't have a 2nd zone and dosen't have preamp outputs.

RareAirsNo. This receiver will not do what you need. What you want is to find a receiver that has "Zone 2" pre outs to connect to your JBLs. The Onkyo TX-N575 has what you need and can be found new under $300. I actually own this and the zone 2 feature on low-mid range Onkyos are a little cumbersome to use but it works. You should also be able to find a lot more options (Yamahas, Denons etc) online if you are willing to go refurbished.

Hmm is this an actual good price? Not as aware of receivers but I know Fry's runs ads it seems every month on them.

Does this have class A/B or class D amplification?

krenceyA/B. I believe that only their Elite series use the D Class amp, which is why I started a poll on their Elite AVRs. I think that their least expensive, almost full-featured AVR is the SCD-LX502, which has the D Class amps.

krencey The VSX-932 is categorized by Pioneer as a "Direct Enegery" amplifier: https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/Class+D+Amps+and+Direct+Energy+HD+Amplifiers I guess it's a Class D design with some "enhancements." Usually only music oriented or "audiophile" amps use A/B amplification because it's less efficient but "sounds better." I only put "sounds better" in quotes because like everything else, it's open to interpretation.

Funny enough I just upgraded from my panasonic plasma and a pioneer receiver that was about 8-9 years old to an LG OLED and a Denon. I'm enjoying it.

If anyone is interested in higher end Pioneer Elite AV Receiver, I've added a poll of four of them in a reasonable price range, $500-$1600. All feature DTS-X and have higher level video processing, as well as more power and more features (of course, you pay more). I've voted for the SC-LX502, at $999MSRP, and it seems to meet the needs of those with existing 7.2 surround systems (to go 9.2 would mean hanging wires, because there is no way I can fish them through my media room now), who want to get up to speed with 4K and the latest in Dolby technology.

Any thought of dropping an Pioneer Elite A/V receiver? I have inefficient speakers for my surround sound, so this is borderline for power and if I'm going to buy now, I would like to future proof myself as possible. I currently have a Pioneer Elite that is ten years old, and recently bought an LG OLED to replace my 10 year old plasma, so I'm in the updating mode right now.

Anyone know if the included remote only functions via IR or uses Bluetooth? I have a setup where I'd like to hide the receiver if possible. That said, if this unit has a chance of overheating in that setup I should probably find that out too.
