Very nice case! Didn't care for the color so I had it refinished and powder coated and now that it matches everything, looks like a million bucks! Thanks MD and OLKB for another awesome product!
Looks great, not seen any scratch or reason for this to be B-stock . I did find out after the drop that there will be no more low-profile cases/plates as OLKB are going for a mid-profile that will be more compatible with the high profile.
My case didn't come with any scratches or cosmetic issues whatsoever and I couldn't care less about the flipped logo. Great deal on a great looking case!
I bought a Planck Rev4 second hand off of someone on r/mk, but it only came with top plate, PCB, and switches. After sourcing keycaps, I still needed a bottom plate. And, as anyone who's tried to buy from olkb.com knows, that can be hard to come by. Had to be compatible with the lo-pro top plate and the Rev4.
Someone else posted about this bottom plate on r/olkb, and I figured what the hell, let's give it a try. No one could answer if it would work, at least not definitively. But it was cheap, and would show up long before anywhere else I could get one.
It arrived a few weeks ago, and immediately took the place of the homemade EOTW-style plate I had made from some scrap G10 I had out in the garage. And it was an immediate improvement!
Color, fit and finish, and overall build quality is top-notch. It fit up like a dream, like it was made for my keyboard. The silver works very nicely with the exposed steel of the top plate, and plays off the greys of the keycaps very well. Took the board from 'usable' to 'sturdy and reliable' in one brief upgrade. I'm very glad I bought one, and forever thankful to the person who linked the drop to that great sub. Thanks, Massdrop, for helping me finish my very first ortho keyboard! Now to wait (im)patiently for the Rev6 I ordered to be shipped in April of next year... :(
I bought the Gunmetal Grey version, and I had trouble finding the exact spot of the blemish, at least for mine anyways.
As for the case itself, I love the added heft and feel of my Planck that this case gave it.
Looks great, feels great.
One caveat. Jack has since moved onto standardizing the hole cutouts on his plates to match the hi-pro plate layout. That's great and all, however support for the low pro plates will most likely end. And you'll have to look at third party options. I know many of us jumped on this drop last time, and still have no readily available metal low pro top plate.
