I'm over the moon about this board. I can't believe how smooth and soft it is to type on this. It's exactly what I had hoped it would be. I deal with chronic RSI and finally had to bring myself to sell my Realforce because I had to accept that I would never recover enough to be able to use that again as my daily driver. It was only 45g but combined with the tactility, it was just too hard on my hands. I had no idea there was such a thing as a electrocapacitive linear switch.
Linear switches are where it's at for me these days and these are perfect! I can type as fast as I want on these without my hands hurting and they're actually still kinda tactile.
Thank you Massdrop and Plum! This is fcking awesome especially at the price!
I am in love with this keyboard. I actually do not mind the light switch actuation and am having no issues with mistakes. I even game on it and rest my fingers on it and have not experienced issues with accidentally imputing a keystroke while doing this, as I was worried would happen from reading other reviews. The keyboard is very quiet and keystrokes are smooth. The light actuation force makes it so I can type super fast, so this is awesome for writing, which I do a lot of (between writing papers for school as well as writing my own fiction). Recommend 100%.
I love this Keyborad, but...No manual in the box or any thing regarding the software or how to upgrade the firmware, and the website is absolutely useless.

Before I start off with a review about the product itself, it actually shipped about a month earlier than expected, which was fantastic! I received it the same day I received my Leopold FC980C. Kind of made for a good side-by-side comparison.
I wasn't entirely sure about what I'd think of my first TKL; I generally decided I'd either get a full-size or a 65% and maybe a numpad, but now that I have the product in front of me, I really like the aesthetic of it. The rounded-edge, textured, pale-white case is much more pleasant than I thought it would be, and the board itself has a good heft to it. The keycaps have a nice colour to them, although the legends are top-printed, and this is quite apparent on some of the function keys. The most noticeable difference are the function keys above the arrow keys; many of them are printed at different sizes, some looking more stretched while others are printed farther down the keycap and different sizes. The longer I look at it the more it throws me off, so I tend to not pay attention to it too much, especially since I touch type.
The sound and feel of the keyboard were what really surprised me. The light, almost-scratchy thock that the switches make are really relaxing, and with the 35g switches, typing is incredibly quick on them. I may buy one of the 55g sheets in the future just to swap it out and see how it feels, but for now it's a great keyboard to type on at home without fatiguing myself.
I love the topre clone switches, because they allow me to use tons of keycap sets, and am looking forward to putting the DSA Milkshake set on this keyboard once they arrive in December.
All in all, I highly recommend picking up this product when it next drops, but hopefully they fix the printing issue on the function keys above the arrow keys.
One of my best keyboards. Looks, key-feel, key-sound, and the sound thumping effect of the case are all perfect.
The keys are so light that sometimes it is only on the screen that I notice fast repeating characters when my resting fingers activate a key. You can use this keyboard for a day and still there is no finger or hand fatigue or pain.
This is my favorite keyboard. I've owned or tried boards with Cherry brown, black, blue, clear, green, and silver switches. For office use (low actuation force for fast typing, low noise for placating coworkers), the only thing that comes close to the Plum's super-dome switches is the Cherry red. I currently use Cherry silver at home and the Plum at work. The silver switches are very snappy and a lot of fun, but the feel just isn't ideal for typing all day, and they're still comparatively noisy.
The Plum's electro-capacitative (read: dome) switches are quiet, precise, and have a wonderful, gentle feel with a subtle thud when they bottom out. Out of the box, I found 35g way too light for me, maybe because months of hammering away on Cherry greens had turned my fingers into brutal typing weapons. Fortunately, the board comes with a set of 10g springs, which I installed under my alpha and modifier keys. Perfect.
As others have mentioned, fit and finish aren't first class; the plastic plate was slightly warped out of the box, but I just flexed it back to level and it has stayed level. I love that the board firmware has an OS toggle (hold down FN+alt for ~3 seconds until a light flashes under the "Print Screen" key to enable Mac-native mode) and uses Cherry-compatible stems. I popped on the Tai-Hao Hawaii keycaps and now get more compliments on this board than on anything I've ever owned!
Fantastic keyboard, and easily one of the best bang for your buck keyboards Ive had. The only reason it's 4 star instead of 5 is that the only weight offered is 35g. It's not terribly hard to get a dome sheet off of ebay for $20 and replace it. I just wish the keyboard could have been made stock with it so you dont have to spend more money just to change the switch weight.
Ive always used 50g+ switches, so using this keyboard at 35g was awkward for gaming as Id press keys by just resting my fingers on them, being used to something heavier. But it was PERFECT once I swapped the dome sheet out. Has a very solid feel, and a great sound.
I have no experience with actual Topre, so I dont know how these nopre boards compare. All I know is that it's a solid keyboard overall.
This is a fun keyboard to play with. The 35g domes were WAY too light for me, so I ordered a set of 65g domes and the boards feels great and sounds even better. Next on tap is to get a USB-to-USB QMK converter so I can make better use of it with my own keymap.
I love this keyboard for typing at the office. It's not too loud but still has that satisfying thock when you bottom out on the keys. I've gotten dud boards from Massdrop before, but I've not had any problems with this one. The media shortcuts are a nice addition, they work great on my Macbook Pro.
I'd recommend this board for anyone who likes MX Reds or Browns but wants a little quieter switch for the office or shared space!
