The audio on my pc38x is not working
One day I just plugged in my Pc38x and they stopped working. I tested the mic and it works, I've tried changing the cord multiple times and have adjusted the volume disk, none of this has changed my situation. I've tested the headphones on my PC, switch, and PS5 and the audio doesn't work there either.

The reason these cost so much is simply because there are enough people out there willing to pay the price. I know that I would drop some good money for a sexy looking cable if I had it.
Do you happen to own an iPhone or an Apple product? If so, how could you possibly justify the price? There's a huge number of products out there that offer better performance and functionality for far less money. And yet the iPhone is the most popular brand of phone in the world. Why is this? Because it looks fancy.
To be honest, I'd probably pay $100 for a really well built cable that looked fancy and was aesthetically complementary to my TOTL IEM if I had the money laying around. But currently I don't so oh well. Other people buying these cables doesn't negatively affect me in any way, and it doesn't affect you in any way either.
Now we go back to cables. These are cables. There was not millions or billions spent on research and development. It is a cable that looks very average. Even if it is sprinkled with silver dust and some other magic substance to make waves travel faster, slower, better, straighter, than any other cable on the earth it is still cable. As a cable it gives a very questionable benefit over stock cable or cheaper $20 alternative cable from Amazon. I think it looks below average. I don't like the connectors and clear wire will become dirty soon. And again what exactly are the benefits of this cable that makes it worth the price of Massdrop headphones and stock cable that this cable is designed for...
Also, the cheapest current-gen iPhone is $700. That's for the base model iPhone 8. If you want a base model iPhone X that's going to run you $1000. I'm guessing that my point struck a cord in you! My whole point was that from my perspective these devices are a waste of money since you can beat them in longevity and functionality for half the price (see any Android flagship sold in 2017). The Essential phone was released before the iPhone X and can often times be found for $300 online. That's over 66% cheaper than a base model iPhone X, and the Essential phone comes with 128Gb of storage. So then by your logic no one should ever buy the iPhone X! But even more than that, your logic foots the X as an even worse option since by switching from the Essential phone, which is cheaper, to the X you *loose* functionality. That would be like switching from a perfectly working cable to one that only works in the left channel.
You're fanboyism is clouding your judgement. Just let people enjoy their fancy things and they will let you enjoy yours.
And I never said that cables provide as much functionality as an iPhone, I was merely stating that your logic was inconsistent. You say that these cables are bad because they are expensive and don't add more functionality than a regular cable. I was merely pointing out that by that logic iPhones and Apple products as a whole would be bad since they are expensive and have *less* functionality than many lower priced Android phones.
Honestly I agree with you: it's a bit insane to spend so much on a cable. But I disagree with the idea that they should dissappear since they aren't harming anyone by existing. They simply sell to a market created by the demand of idiots.
