While I know more drivers doesn’t not mean better sound but damn, 8?! I have not jumped into the world of BA IEMs before this might be a good start? What do you all think? I’ve had experience with the NuForce EDC and RHA 750. But that’s about it.

willtothewongAt some point you'll get diminishing returns. Be sure to read as much impressions as possible or you will need to take the jump and could be disappointed.

DMTTABYup doing that for sure. Hard to find much since it’s not a mainstream brand and it doesn’t help that they have a single DD with 4 BA model of the exact same shape and size. We shall see! Anyone have experience with this brand or this particular model?

willtothewongThe single DD and 4BA will sound vastly different than the 8BA one. The DD will react to the air volume and shape inside the shell. The BA are mostly not affected by air volume and shape. I hope this helps you in any way.

willtothewongThe number of BA units means something, but not everything. With that being said, it’s hard to believe that this... at most moderate looking item can be any good for a starting point for your venture into BA iems.

willtothewongDon't do it. If you're new to IEMs don't risk big money on something that could potentially be a flop. I love chifi but have already been burned once by Chinese IEMs with trash tuning. I don't know why this brand puts out a $350 IEM and expects people to buy it without providing graphs or sending samples to reviewers. I blew $200 last year buying some chifi that was being peddled by some idiot on a forum. Turned out to be actual garbage. Take hype with a grain of salt and unreputable chifi with a handful.

jjwfrThanks for the heads up. We all know audio can be risky. Maybe if these have a good return policy...😀

willtothewongI really love these: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/rha-cl1-ceramic.21739/reviews I'm more than happy with them. But you need a good AMP or powerful DAP with it. I use them with a Fiio X5 3rd gen on high gain. I love the total clarity and powerful but textured bass. RHA sends you a replacement if your cable gets broken, free of charge if you didn't break it on purpose. As you can't buy a third-party cable with sMMCX connectors.

willtothewongI believe more driver should be better if you use an app or switches to control how they play. I certainly don't want 2 out out 12 drivers active when a recording reaches beyond human hearing range.

brownsoxhttps://www.head-fi.org/threads/ak-custom-hybrid-iem-discussion-impressions.819482/page-3 kimD said it made him ditch his Andromedas. After i bought it, he reveals he's using a ridiculous EQ . Also I was never happy with any "andromeda killers" until I actually bought an Andromeda myself

jjwfrOdd he'd compare them to Andros especially when talking about BA bass. Would make more sense to compare against another hybrid like the Dorado, Polaris, or Solaris.
