Looks like this pen got terrible reviews. I found on similar on eBay that cost 18 bucks. I'd rather spend half the price of this and get an off brand pen then get this terrible pen. Will not be joining the drop.

imnotdanI'd be a bit careful with low quality pens involving rare earth magnets, if that's what you mean. Rare earth magnets like to shatter, and I've personally almost lost an eye to a pair of them that clicked together from no more than 2cm apart and shattered in the process.

no just regular magnets. Rare earth magnets are brittle in their composition but they are usually sprayed with a coating so they don't shatter as easily. Sucks you had a bad experience.
imnotdanIndeed! Just to follow back on this, Neodymium magnets are typically electroplated only. This explains a bit more about their durability, coatings and some general info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rare-earth_magnet
