People, these belts are unbelievable. They feel right out of the box like they've been worn for years. I've purchased many nice belts here on MD and these are the best by far! Purchase by the case!

Is 'Driftwood' another name for Natural Chromexcel leather ?
shahtirthakYes it is. Same leather.

Have you considered offering a natural color? Love the way it ages!
aggaggDriftwood is Natural CXL 😉 But I think you mean veg tan, that patinas dramatically. We did work with veg tan for a while, but found it was too difficult to keep consistent and clean in a very busy workshop. Maybe in the future as a one-off!

@RyanPopoff Can you confirm that this Drop actually uses vanity sizing (pants size, not belt size) like the description says? On the Popov site, it appears you ask for the belt size directly. For example, if I'm a 30" waist in most pant sizes, should I order a 30 (like the Drop description says) or a 32 (like your normal sales site says)?
mcdonutsAlso, if you (or anyone else) has issues with belt sizing, you can reach out to us directly to resolve it. We will exchange belts that don't fit properly as long as they're in good condition. If you're a 30" waist, order a 30" belt for this Drop.

Don’t make a mistake! I must have accidentally selected the wrong size when placing the order. I didn’t realize it until I read the confirmation email the next morning. The problem is the drop ended overnight and customer service won’t change the size. I let them know of my mistake just a couple of hours after the drop ended but was told there is nothing they can do. It’s plainly stated in the description that once the drop ends the sales are final and I get that, but with this not shipping for another 10 weeks, surely there is some flexibility to make a change (likely before the order was even processed). Looks like a great belt. I’ll try it and hope it fits without a couple inches of extra tail hanging from the buckle.
JoeGravesJust noticed your comment! We're happy to exchange the belt if you ship it back to us. We'll cover the cost of shipping you a new size. Feel free to email me directly: ryan@popovleather.com

I hope Ryan Popov is still monitoring this comment thread. I need to know just how "heavy duty" this belt is? Would it suffice as a gun belt without sagging/folding over time? Will it handle large camp knives without sagging/folding? I have a very good gun gun belt, but it's close to 15 years old, and after being worn nearly every waking minute of every day during that time, it's ready to be replaced. It's a 2-ply bull leather piece, made for carrying fairly heavy loads without folding or sagging. Some in this thread have said this belt is soft, so I'm concerned that it won't suit my purposes. Not looking for any anti-gun comments by asking this question. I'm really hoping that Ryan Popov will be the only one to answer my question.

Thanks much, Ryan. Not positive I can swing it this go-around (already bought a knife I didn't check with the wife about beforehand), but hoping to see this drop (or one similar) again soon if I can't. Appreciate the quick reply.

BlueTomThe belt is very soft and feels supple, but is not rigid enough for carrying a handgun. Also, the buckle is retained by rivets, not screws, so cannot be replaced.

Hands down my favorite leather maker. I have three wallets, two notebook cases and a dopp kit bag - all done exceptionally well and age beautifully. Buy with confidence from this maker!
