This bent titanium clip is a good option for people that like their knife to carry deeper in the pocket. It allows for more clearance than the milled clip (version 1 at least) and has less tension therefore is easier to get in and out. The finish matches fairly well with the beadblast of the handles. Regarding the design it is alright but doesn't look as sleek as the original clip. Only real downside are the ergonomics because the clip is more noticable.
I bought one for my Ferrum Forge Falcon as I found the standard sculpted clip a bit too tight, only to switch back to the sculpted clip because this one is too damn loose.
Even with the screws tightened to the max, and having tried to bend the clip in more, it doesn't clip to my pants pocket at all. It had zero grip, no tension to speak of, and the main reason I didn't ask for a refund was because I didn't want to deal with Drop to try and arrange it.
Clip matches my knife ano perfectly. Makes knife more function friendly for me, over the milled clip. Only desire is for a scoche more tension. Ok for jeans, but light for khakis.
BoomzaiAgreed, not nearly enough retention in pocket, it feels extremely flimsy. Also, there are two different heights for the screws used, the first one sticks up more than the one in the back, and the result is the knife always gets hung up trying to put the knife into your pocket.
This clip is okay. It would be 5 stars with a few fixes. Could definitely use some QC improvements because the bends are lackluster; the lack of tension without hand-bending the clip seems to be a recurring problem. Also, the change in fastener head type is a real head scratcher, why go from Torx to hexes!? Countersunk hardware would be fantastic too. The bronze color doesn't match the anodizing that WE uses, nit-picky but noticeable.
Not enough spring hold down. Knife fell out of pocket. The clip also stands too tall. I tried to put it on the crux and it hits right of the edge of the frame lock. Poor fit, poor spring, and too big. Wouldn’t recommend.
It works well on heavy denim/canvas pants. It catches a little on the screws, but pops over easy enough. No different than my Olight S1A light.
Stonewash plain color is a pretty good match for the Dao grey. Doesn't really match the Falcon grey.
-1 star for screw type changing from Torx T6 to Hex 1.5mm, and color changed from chrome to black. New screws are a little shorter, because pops clip is thinner where they attach. Original screws are too long. Didn't really notice this before buying, but all cosmetic.
Edit: The pops clip gives a better grip on the knives for me. The kink makes a good finger groove for the Falcon. The front of the clip adds some traction on the Dao.
