This thing is very handsome in a very modern bauhaus style. Too expensive for me, but I really dig it.

Why does this rather expensive watch come with only a ‘one year after market warranty’? Is it a discontinued model? Who is selling it? A jobber?

$1300 for a base selitta movement, an ingrown hair of a date window, an odd mixture of two tone titanium, and a logo that looks like a sign for a chair/seating. The leather strap looks nice.

That´s right, perhaps they thought a little bit of titanium : "So now we can double the price." But better they ruin themeselves as before they ruin nearly Eterna. Porsche Design by Eterna. None in Europe will pay 3800€ or 1150€ (drop price) for a Porsche watch. For the drop price i can buy a Mido Multifort Chronometer or a Commander II Chronometer at a authorized retailer.

watchforeverPeople who know the existence of Mido will not be buying the porsche watch, for sure. I think that their target market are middle aged men with a bit of cash looking for a 'good' watch but they don't know thanything about watches so somehting associated with porsche seems like a safe bet with some cachet and class. The design language is very 90s as well so appeals to the 50 y.o. market.

I‘m way younger than 50 and still own this watch and a Mido Chronometer also. 🤷‍♂️

Nice watch. I've often wondered if it's appropriate for a non-Porsche driver to wear a Porsche Design watch... Or by extension the same for a Ferrari watch. Does it scream I don't have the car but wait, I DO have the watch?

lamerIt's because of the name. Porsche and Porsche Deisgn are 2 different entity. PD make a lot of stuff that are not mean to be "Porsches Car" inspired. They are a design team that, while under the same umbrella, isn't directly related to car. Not like Ferrari watch that try to be Ferrari. I actually like this watch, but it's $300 too much imo.

It’s back! Pretty expensive for a Selitta SW 200-1 watch. If it was 1/2 that price maybe.

I have many watches with some COSC certs. This one is no Chronometer. If was, maybe a real deal.
