Unfortunately, Porsche Design Watches are not made by the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC anymore. Today it's just a highly priced name, made by unknown manufacturers in Switzerland on behalf of Porsche Design. For 1399 - 1599 USD you can get a Top-grade ETA 7750 by well-known Swiss companies. Porsche Design watches are not bad, of course. But considering the price I would rather prefer to look for a used Porsche Design watch made by IWC.

watchhansFor those interested: Porsche Design Watches are assembled at their Swiss company Porsche Design Timepieces AG in Soleure, Switzerland. The watch parts are produced by various Swiss companies, specialized in movements, watch cases, dials, hands, etc. and send to Timepieces AG for final assembly and adjusting. 'Outsourcing' is a century-old, common tradition in the Swiss watch industry and an advantage, technically spoken. This always ensures to get high quality parts. The headquarters of Porsche Design is located in Zell am See, Austria.

Personally, I’d go with @MarPabl ’s word over MD’s--he’s a knowledgeable watch-guy. MD is just a few twenty-somethings looking for new jobs.

Akklee These questions annoy the shit out of me. It works like this: if you want all that crap, you pay five-grand to an AD and they toss in a cute shopping bag with a handle. If you can’t swing the $5k, you buy them here, and take your chances like everyone else.

I have a Porsche Design propelling pencil that I got from a TKMaxx discount store for $15 and I think that is adequate

I don’t see why anyone would spend more than $750 for a 7750 this drop made me give a little attention to my $600 7750

ED61Agreed your got a nice ⌚! For me, the only reason to pay more is because it has an in 🏡 movement, some special way to show the time or it's built with a special material like titanium (this has it but it's still expensive IMO), ceramic or gold (which I don't 🤎) Maybe if this ⌚ was 💯% titanium (I mean including bracelet not just a strap) I would consider it a tiny little bit more than now.

About $600 usd too much!!! Porsche design is not a selling point as a lot of members either cannot afford a Porsche or know they are over-valued , or maybe want an Audi sport Oris option: a lot cheaper ; and there are many other better built and finished options under $1000 usd. This is a great spec. but just too, too ,much money. Some also think the weight of titanium feels cheap!!!

JAoneAgreed I like the Oris Audi GMT because it has linear seconds... https://drop.com/buy/oris-audi-sport-gmt-automatic-watch This one is a 🏃🏻‍♂️ of the mill Valjoux so it doesn't make sense for me @ this price .

Any reason why the front and back photos don't match? Is this natural titanium with a leather strap, or PVD coated with a rubber strap?

Why do the Porsche watch drops use such low resolution photos? If I am going to buy a $1500 watch, I would like to see as much detail as possible. The sub $200 watches usually have nice crisp hi res photos and lots of them, why not Porsche? Or is it my computer that is the problem?

Neither of them is wearing a Porsche watch so that doesn't help.

felixmenk Guess you're going to have to settle for a "sub $200 watch with nice crisp hi res photos" then?
