Can't believe this hasn't gone viral yet, one of the best all purpose hiking pants out there, and the best price I've seen so far. These are true to sizes ( I mean seriously true to size). I'd suggest go one size up when buying these, as most other brands in US I've worn is generally one size larger than what's on the tag. I normally wear 32-33 across the board, for this I have to order 33. Also the built-in belt is very neat.

I was willing to give these pants a try, but just noticed that the available waist sizes are only from 28" to 34"! I guess Prana and Massdrop are not looking for business from anyone who has a larger frame, and I'm not even talking over weight, just a somewhat larger person. I think that I had a 34" waist line in high school when I played basketball, and I toggle between 38" and 40" many years later! Personally I would recommend that anyone looking for outdoor, or hiking pants, check out the following pants instead: Columbia Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible Pants: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBA120Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 The Tru-Spec 24/7 series of pants: https://www.truspec.com/24-7-series/pants The L.A. Police Gear STS Atlas Tactical Cargo Pants: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W2HD22K/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1&psc=1 Rail Riders: https://www.railriders.com/men-outdoor-clothing-pants-c-104_110.html I have been able to score some deals on the Columbia Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible Pants on Amazon, and have purchased two pairs of pants there in Black and Green for less than $20.00 and $10.00 respectively. I have noticed that the prices on Amazon fluctuate tremendously, as the price on the pants that I purchased go up and down each day, so setting an alert may be the best way to snag a deal! L.A. Police Gear also sells some really nice pants at reasonable prices.

Your statement assumes that you have inside information about the motives, and sales objectives of both companies related to the sale of this product. I'm pretty sure you don't have that knowledge, and your statement is just pure speculation. Maybe it's a "get rid of the stock we have in that color and sizes on hand fire sale", maybe not, I don't know; because I am unable to purchase the pants on Massdrop, like those individuals who have waistlines between 28" and 34" in circumference. It seems obvious to me that if Prana and Massdrop wanted to sell the pants in a complete range of sizes and colors, then they would have done just that, but they did not, which is the only fact that I am sure of at this time. Anything else is speculation, until Massdrop and Prana comment and explain the situation. The pants may be good, bad, or mediocre, I don't know, but I do know that the other pants that I mentioned are great pants in my opinion, and sometimes available at great prices. I'm definitely not stuck on, or obsessed with Prana, as I have not really been impressed with their style in the past, but was willing to give them a try, but only at the reduced price.

I really like the Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible pants. When I have put them under a faucet of running water, the water runs off like oil and water. They are cool, and wick moisture away from your body, and they also provide a UPF 50 sun barrier. They are really comfortable, and I don't even notice that I am wearing pants.

I love these pants, purchased some from REI a while back and they're a frequent wear. Sizing/Fit: I'd say the waist is fairly true to size, and the built in mini 'belt' can handle most adjustments. I'd buy true to size or a size up, since the belt cannot adjust above its standard waist measurement, only down. Their Inseam length seems a bit long (not just this offering being 34", but in general). I typically buy these in 32" inseams and am 6'3", ~160lbs. I buy 32" and 34" inseams from different brands (Dickies, Levis, Duluth, REI, etc), and it seems to run a bit longer than true. I have no issues with the cuffs coming up short, even in sneakers. Durability: I haven't had any issues, but haven't taken them out climbing or any difficult hiking. In daily wear/light work they've been perfect and show no signs of wearing out. General impressions: These are my 2nd favorite (non-insulated; Dickies wins for flannel lined just on pricepoint alone) daily/hike pants; my absolute favorite being their brothers, the Prana Zioneers. The stretch is subtle but effective. They seem to wear slower than other pants (comparing them to stuff I own and wear for similar stuff). They're comfortable enough for daily use, and pretty much useful any day you'd bust out a 3 season tent, temperature wise. I have worn them out in some heavy weather and below-freezing temps. Without an under layer, you'll hate yourself below around 40F in these. In the wet, they seem to wick nicely and retain little of the moisture. I wasn't running to change out of them the instant I came inside, nor was I sitting at a desk trapped in itchy dampness. Pricing: 40 bucks is pretty darn good. Mountain Steals gets closest that I've seen, around 45-50 depending on color choice (Prana makes these in a decent range of colors). For REI members/cardholders, they're regular features in the Outlet and are usually in the 55-60ish range there; you won't get a member reward on that since it's an outlet buy, but the card will kick back a few bucks in your dividend. Alternatives: Don't like the cargopant-like thigh pocket? Look at the Zioneers. They seem to be cut trimmer too. They're another frequent feature in the REI Outlet & at Mountain Steals as far as relatively decent pricing (at least, compared to the RSP 85-90), they feature a more carpenter jean like thigh pocket. It's still there, but more subtle. I think they even have more colors compared to the Stretch Zions.

I've recently bought two of these pants and I love them. I purchased them for curling and they allow for great flexibility. The black and grey pants are nice enough that I wear them to work as well. I look forward to wearing them hiking when it isn't freezing out here in Wisconsin.

You would think for the tall pants there would be some bigger waist sizes.
