The ortholinear layout definitely requires some time to get used to. But it's definitely not that bad as some reviewers say. Only the bottom row is bit problematic. I started with 40wpm straight away, I'm sure I will reach my normal typing speed in few days. The build quality is extremely decent. The only thing I disliked is that the stainless steel plate rings a bit when you press keys. Even when you use silent switches it will make that noise. The manual mentions Planck in few places, guess just a copy-paste leftover :) not a big deal. My package didn't include rubber feet I saw in review videos. Not a big deal either, can get them in a local shop. The biggest advantage of this board is the open-source firmware and infinite customizability. But if you're not up to messing with QMK I'd rather not advise you to buy this board. The default layout isn't particularly good IMO. Not a big deal if you gonna make your own, but can be nasty if you don't want to.

morosophosas far as the plate ringing, it sounds like you may have done the "less secure" assembly. if you do it the other way, the nuts and bolts on either side of the plate keep it pretty dang quiet (ymmv of course, but mine is almost entirely silent unless I'm really in a groove and hammering away).
