I've been following this monitor for some time now and I've been wondering 1) Is the color reproduction an issue with this monitor as in it doesn't match that of a more well known panel such as Dell or Samsung and is closer to like a Viotek. 2) I've read that display port must be used in order to achieve the 165hz 1440p, if that is the case, will a HDMI to display port adapter achieve this when using a laptop as the output source?

Omnitrix4m3I'm not an expert in this department, but it's my understanding that the problem isn't which port you're using, but the bandwidth of the standard used to connect the two. What I mean is if you're using HDMI anywhere in the mix, you're going to be constrained by the HDMI spec. If you're not using Display port by hooking a DisplayPort cable in to a DisplayPort input on the monitor and output to the computer you will not be able to achieve DisplayPort bandwidth levels required for high refresh rates at a large resolution.
CrashspeederYour 1st question is complicated. It's related to the panel sourcing. We are using same panel source as the name brand, but selectively higher grade. Will you see Dell or Samsung selling a 165Hz specification? Consumers may tolerate dead pixels from a Dell or Samsung monitor, but demand brands like Principle Matter or Viotek to be dead pixel free. We tentatively select better panels to support the higher expectation. We hope people can appreciate the value we bring to this community. The 2nd question, DP is required. However, if it has a HDMI 2.0 port and you are using a compatible HDMI 2.0 Video card (pretty recent, last 2 years ) then you can achieve up to 144hz with HDMI. 165hz technically works but, it can depend. Thank you

PrincipleMatterThank you for your response, it's great value purchases like these that make you think corners had to be cut somewhere and also make you ecstatic when you learn there were none.

PrincipleMatterare u able to provide a brand as to where you are sourcing your panels from? for example acer is using panels manufactured by AU Optronics. Is it possible for you guys to tell us where it is that you are getting these panels from?
sennethIf you look at the spec page closely, we disclose the panel source and panel model of this monitor. Panel cell: AUO M315DVR01.0
