Product Description
The original Prometheus Lambda spinning top, a combination of brass and aluminum, was hailed for its simplicity, precision, and long spin times. The man behind it—California-based strategist, machinist, and product designer Jason Hui—is back at it again with a new design, this time in solid brass and copper Read More

Holy shit Massdrop please stop using Fedex SmartPost. Delivering on horseback would be faster. It's infuriating watching my estimated delivery date pushed back by DAYS when the package is 1.5 hours away driving.
Shouldn’t the copper with stainless ball be + $12, not + $22?!
If adding Ruby ball to brass top costs $18, then adding Ruby to Copper with stainless ball should be an additional $18, not $8, meaning the copper with stainless ball is mispriced.
captainIt looks to me that they are giving an extra "discount" to the Ruby and copper combo. I guess to your logic you'd be just as happy to see the copper ruby price increase by $8 and then you can make the purchase you want in peace.
The original, and still the best, top on the market. Not only is it the most beautiful, and best designed, is the best balanced, and longest spinning top I’ve ever used, Plus, the large light opening through the handle shows off the ruby beautifully. Some have attempted to copy, but no one has done as well. As ObiWan would say: THIS IS the top you are looking for! ;-). Just be careful about signing up for Prometheus’s Email spam list.
captainSpam? Really? I get not even one a month. If you are getting multipe copies of the same email then you have mutliple email addresses listed with Jason. Try Unsubscribing. That works for me.
Otherwise, I agree on the simple beauty of the Lambda.
I've always thought that the profile of Jason's original two-piece Lambda looked better than the current styling of the Solids. But, alas, I missed out on this beauty when it was originally released. Imagine my delight when a few weeks ago Jason re-released the original two-piece Lambda!
I promptly sold my Solid Brass and ordered it from his Store site And I couldn't be happier. True, it's a bit lighter than the solid Brass but it just as rock solid stable as the others. And with the ruby tip it looks stunning.

Now, if we could just get Jason to do a two-piece with a Copper ring, that would look amazing!
At least MassDrop usually refunds your money when it screws you over, unlike some kickstarter assholes who flagrantly STEAL customers’ money. (Just look up Znaps for one horror show I fell victim to)
You must be new around here, and don’t understand that, in the early days, MassDrop delivered great deals on cool things that were unobtainable elsewhere. Many were happy to wait a few weeks, or even months, to save 50% plus and/or to get something that no one else was selling. At this point, MassDrop has essentially become an overpriced online IKEA apparently run by semi-retarded sloths. I do not know how else to explain the consistently high retail-level prices, slow and overpriced shipping, and occasional cancellation of orders without notice. (Edit: They apparently listened to our complaints, and now include cancellations in our histories, however “order canceled” makes it sound like the customer cancel the order, and does not record MassDrop’s culpability when it screws the pooch.)
Anyway, this is a forum. It’s purpose is to voice opinions and to share with others. If you can’t handle civil disagreement, perhaps it is you who needs to go elsewhere (but that’s for you to decide, not me or anyone else to tell you. ;-). The rest of us are happy to hear of others’ experiences, both good and bad. It helps us make better buying/not-buying decisions. :-)
Thanks to all of y’all who take the time to share your experiences, and point out good/bad prices when MassDrop is dropping or serving the ball well! <3
