The TR-4 is made by ProTech Knives in collaboration with the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation—an organization that helps relieve veterans of the stress and pressure of repatriating after service by providing interactive experiences that enrich family relationships. Created as a tribute to one of the most decorated and most lethal snipers in American history, this commemorative folder delivers impressive slicing and piercing power and is a great way to show support for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from each knife sold will be donated by ProTech to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
Note: Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
The TR-4’s 4-inch drop-point blade is made from 154CM, a steel commonly found in ProTech knives that delivers good edge retention and resistance to corrosion. Its smooth, anti-reflective DLC coating adds durability and corrosion resistance in addition to helping the user keep a low profile. Use the thumb stud to open the blade, which locks in place with a button lock. The handle is composed of polished aluminum and marked with the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation’s signature logo—a mashup of Kyle’s tattoos that represents his commitment to fellow soldiers, family, and the United States of America.
The Chris Kyle Frog Foundation logo is a culmination of everything Kyle stood for as a soldier, family man, and citizen of the United States. The frog skeleton is a recognized symbol of fallen US Navy SEALs, a dedication to the men Kyle fought alongside and those who came before. If you reposition the frog’s femur and humerus bones, you make a cross, which signifies his love of God—a connection so deep it is said to have run through his bones. The target through the frog’s right eye is a tribute to Kyle’s teammate and brother in arms, Ryan Job.
