It appears well made, all the rear connectors are quality, the product itself is laid out nicely, it just does not have the sound one would expect. The company also is hyper cheap and it comes with no manual, you have to download all the pages for a hard copy. I would not buy again.
This is my first type of tv soundsystem whos this small and not as a whole 5.1 speaker setup. And its ok for the price and size.
As others have written before the battery had to be replaced and i had some problems with the pin open system of the controller. You have to insert a pin in a small hole and push a small button with the pin and then the battery holder should pop out. It didnt work smooth but got out after some tries.
The system to see wich settings thats current on it is crap. Those led dots is just cheap.
For this price as a secondary soundsystem its ok.
Overall it is an amazing deal, sells on Amazon for $499 i saved $400 with Drop.
Came pretty quick but longer than it would of if bought through Amazon but the $400 in savings was well worth the weight. Product sounds amazing and would of been a good deal at the normal $499 retail price so at $100 i feel like ive stolen it lol.
I like the warm PSB sound. I've owned Alpha Gold floor speakers for more than 20 years and still love them. Like others have said, syncing them with another remote is an issue so don't lose the remote. It's nice and small too. Sounds way better than what I was using. A real bargain at $100. I'd get another given the chance.
Sound quality belies the price point. Great intelligibility, strong bass. A little hard to program, especially with the lip sync feature . An LCD screen would help greatly and increase the price. Dead remote battery as reported by others.
Mine also came with a dead remote battery.
Honestly, the sound, considering the mrsp and the brand is sub par.
It's a dark warm sound, not Sparkly. Not awful, just not what I would expect from PSB.
The remote is cheap but the component appears to be well built.
Still, for the money it's not bad, just not a great deal.
Sound quality low, Included Battery dead, and Return Impossible
First, you should know that this unit absolutely requires the remote or else it is completely useless. Not a single button on the speaker itself even for turning on or off. Second, the remote uses the less than convenient (and pricey and wasteful) 2025 sized battery. The sound is poor for vocals and, therefore, not really a center channel sound. It's sounds a bit boomy (at least this unit does). The remote that came with mine has sticky rubber on the remote, which is a sign of rubber degradation. This is either a sign of poor construction or it is an old unit. After having to order new batteries given that the one with the unit was dead, I found that the sound was sub par. After asking for a return, Drop has said that it was more than 30 days from date of purchase (even though it was less than 30 day from the date of delivery). Frankly I have never heard of returns calculated from date of purchase. Perhaps others like the sound, and my unit is defective. I hope your model will be better than this one. Best of luck and be careful about return dates.
Sounded somewhat muddy at first. I used my DAC, which has a built-in EQ, and boosted mids and highs, starting at 1k. I cut mids between 60-500, with max cut at 250 and I boosted extreme lows. Played back using built-in DSP expansion, without dialogue boost, and it now sounds absolutely amazing. Depth, staging and detail the best I've ever heard for something of this size.
