The starting prices for some of these kits are very high and the fact there is no 500 drop point means many sets will still be very expensive come the end of the drop.

This is not true, compare the compatibility these kits here offer with previous drops and this is not only cheaper but comes with more keycaps.
Text Mods @200 units is $8 off the base price, SA Carbon Mods has 3 less keys and is $15 off the base price, that's almost half the difference, once you have a few kits that kind of difference adds up.
1000 unit drop points are only really hit by 3 or so sets (Alphas, Mods and Novelties) then the remaining kits hit around 200-500 and the specialist kits sometimes don't even make 200, with the alphas split into 3 different fonts/colours and the Mods also split into different colours/fonts(Icons) they might also struggle to hit 1000 units. I'm in no way saying your work isn't worth it (I'm huge fan of your work I even own SA Pulse already and I'm looking to spend $600 again here having spent $400 on Laser), just a 500 unit drop point would make many of the child kits more affordable given they wont come close to reaching 1000 units.
With regards to the base prices comment I made, Id imagine that's down to many kits that would need new moulds etc which naturally boosts the price up, so I accept that's incorrect and apologise, just the drop points don't seem to reduce the prices of kits compared to other SA drops.
I think this kind of thing is not in Mito's control and more in the hands of Signature Plastics - which I imagine is making quite a lot of money of all these sets.
I just don't understand why there isn't drop points for 500 if other SA sets have done them, that and some of the drop amounts don't make sense, I have no idea if anything can be done about this as I'm not privy to such information, I'm merely voicing my concern and opinion, one that clearly isn't isolated given many comments on here and Reddit about the prices in this drop.
Because the amount of $ saved is negligible, like cents. It's not like a fictional drop point can be invented out of thin air there are quantities and quotes that must be respected. If we could offer 500 and more savings we would, don't you think I have thought about that? I obviously did and it couldn't be done.
And by the way, mighty fine avatar! That from an old PlayStation 1 game?
Thanks for the Info MiTo, just so were clear I wasn’t suggesting you were in anyway doing something untoward, you’re a pillar of this community and I love your work. He’s a Character from an N64 (and Original Xbox) Game Called Conker: A Bad Fur Day (and Conker: Live and Reloaded) made by Rare.
The comparison you are making between SA Carbon with PuLSE isn't fair. Kit prices not only depend on the number of keys, but also the size of the keycaps. In addition to that, SP hasn't always charged the same for keycaps, and they have recently acquired more equipment to deliver sets faster and those investments need to be returned in some way.
I've checked all of PuLSE's kits and if I would have designed the same way, they are done so you can't have any layout covered with 2 or 3 kits at most, leaving little to no leftover keycaps.
I was a bit confused, so it was Conker! My apologies, got mistaken for something else. Rare quite a nice studio though.
