I think Massdrop should post drops like these without keycaps and switches in the pictures. IMO it’s approaching false advertising to include pictures of a fully completed kit without any clear indications in the pictures of what is included and what is just an example photo of what the kit will look like completed. Or they could only show what is included in this kit for the first several photos and leave the last couple of photos showing the progression of the build with switches installed and ending with an example photo of the fully completed keyboard? For this drop in particular, you have to be somewhat of a detective to figure out what is actually included. After the first paragraph of the listing in the green highlighted box, Massdrop indicates that keycaps are not included. Then you have to scroll all the way past the photos, specs, and included sections to see the 2nd green highlighted box indicating that switches are also not included. Why couldn’t they have simply notified customers that both the switches and keycaps are not included in the same section of the listing instead of what seems like an attempt to generate confusion by splitting up relevant information? And from reading these comments, several were understandably confused as to what they are getting for a $300 mech keyboard kit drop.
