Seriously?!?!?! Crazy price!!
I bought one that is functionally the same (identical to the second last one linked by MadDog443) for a couple of bucks @ Canadian Tire!! (and those are Canadian bucks!!)
Though not titanium - which may be lighter & corrosion resistant, but it is more brittle & less resilient than steel.
For $58 (plus shipping!) I think I'll go back to Canadian Tire if it breaks.
Just so you know that was my first comment in this thread, I wasn’t the guy who commented before. I was just looking for somewhere where I could buy a q-ring now and saw this discussion and thought I would chime in as I’ve actually bought the one I linked in my comment. I’m not a douche who would call someone names of insult there I.Q over something so silly.
By the way I have the Q-Ring now and it is substantially better than the one I linked from amazon, I bought it so it would match the rest of my titanium accessories.
I totally understand wanting something titanium and high quality, but I've been using an Amflo quick release for years and it's strong, unobtrusive, and for some reason, most people don't know about them. Search for Amflo keychain, they're like $6.
JBVVThese are the 'step up' to titanium with provision for GITD or tritium version of the Amflo QR. They're for people who want a bit more. Nothing wrong with the original though.
lycanthropejeffTitanium is a very reactive metal that shows remarkable corrosion resistance in oxidizing acid environments by virtue of a passive oxide film. Following its commercial introduction in the 1950's,titanium has become an established corrosion resistant material.
