Just updated firmware to Version APP-1.4.08 (01-21-2015). Didn't even know there is a firmware update until now.
For those who don't know either, you can go to this link:
http://en.qlshifi.com/hifi/Download.htm
Warning- be careful not to download the version with the "-WAV" in the firmware filename. This is for playing .wav file only. I made the mistake and couldn't play any of my AIFF file. I've to reload with the correct APP version to get it back to work.
There is a QA360 User manual to download in case you need it. It has instruction on how to update the firmware.
Love this player so far. While not as detail as the Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp I recently bought from MassDrop, it is a close second.

Is this unit really limited to FLAC files sampled at 48 kHz or lower? Or is that just a typo?

For those of you who joined the first drop, how do you like this player so far?
It looks like a really cool piece of kit but there are a lack of reviews on the darn thing.

The player does understand folders but only one level. So you can't, for example, create folders for genres and then have bands/groups underneath. I have been going folder by folder and haven't tried shuffle. Will do so and get back to you, but I suspect you are right about the big folder. The UI is really rudimentary at best.

We have some great news for everyone. We are way ahead of schedule, as our warehouse team has already received the bulk shipment. They will be breaking the order down on Monday and shipping everything back out to you all directly!

It’s a go! Thanks to all of you for being a part of this successful drop. We have submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the QLS QA360 Music Player. They are currently preparing the shipment and once we receive it at our warehouse in New Jersey, we’ll separate everything into individual orders and send them out to you! We expect your orders will be in transit from our warehouse by 6/10.
In the meantime, we’ll do everything we can to update you on information we receive from the vendor about your order status so you know the location of your order throughout the process.
