New from QSP, the Harpyie delivers on looks and performance. A full-sized knife measuring 8.6 inches, this folder carries itself like one half its size. At just 4.9 ounces, it’s very lightweight for its stature. But thanks to the 3.75-inch S35VN blade, it can handle repeated piercing and slicing tasks with no problem. The handle is a combination of carbon fiber and G-10 for a sleek look and a strong hold. Inside the scales are stainless steel liners, which help secure the blade when opened. Speaking of opening, the Harpyie is smooth as butter: A simple press on the flipper tab and the blade effortlessly glides along the ceramic ball bearings to the open position.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (arguably the most famous knifemaker in the world), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process of powdered metallurgy known as CPM, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
