It's not allowing me to choose CF/Damascus. Are we missing a button or is that not an option like it says?

IBSmithMe neither. Its possible they sold out on that model. But that's definitely the one I want. Not really interested in the others.

After savaging the QSP Kylin (and the QSP logo), I just joined this drop. Why? This knife hit most of my buttons, and satisfied my need/desire for a knife with some super-hard wooden scales. The Damascus blade helped, too. I’d been looking for some Lignum Vitae scales (Janka hardness 4390) but it’s difficult to find, and it’s being over-harvested. Turns out Verawood is a close relative, and only a bit less hard at 3750. For comparison, White Oak, Beech and Hickory, all tough hard woods themselves, come in at 1300-1800 on the Janka scale. $78 for Verawood and what I suspect is Rose pattern Damasteel (like the Rike Hummingbird) sounds too good to be true. Perhaps it is, but $78 isn’t too much to risk on what could be my bargain blaster of the year (even beats out the TwoSun TS16M390 I got earlier this year - look for it on the big river retail site, they’re currently back in stock). I keep hoping that Drop looks into doing some deals with TwoSun. Quality that rivals some of the best domestic manufacturers, and some surprising innovations like ramped lock bars. So I’ll come back with a review when I get my Hawk sometime in January. Here’s to a better 2021!

Anyone else getting a Civivi Elementum vibe with this one? I have the Rosewood version. Very similar down to the stylized pivot post. https://www.knifecenter.com/item/CIVC907C/civivi-knives-c907c-elementum-flipper-knife-d2-satin-blade-rosewood-handles

I have the Damascus/CF version of this knife. The size is pretty much perfect and the action is very good. The CF Scales are some of the best around. The Damascus pattern on my blade has a bunch of big dark spots near the spine and a small line of incomplete etching where there must have been something on the blade so it doesn't look that great and was a disappointment for me. That being said, my biggest problem with the blade was that it is not very thin behind the edge. It almost seemed like it was the opposite of a hollow grind. Basically, the so-so blade took what would have been a homerun and turned it into a hustling double.

DaveJI've been playing with this knife some lately and the action has become incredibly smooth and snappy. I also decided to take a 3000 grit sanding sponge the to the blade faces. It now has almost a mirror polish with a much fainter Damascus pattern. Kinda reminds me of Dama-steel now. All in all, I'm really starting to like this knife a lot more. It has moved up to a triple for me. It seems to cut fine, so maybe I was overly harsh on the thickness behind the edge.

DaveJI suspect it actually is Rose pattern Damasteel. My suspicion is strong enough that I just joined the drop. I’m hoping it isn’t laminated, but it doesn’t look like it. A closeup of the spine would be a giveaway, but they didn’t provide one. From what I could tell from the photos, the bevel doesn’t show the usual signs of lamination.
