Bronze Rafir is not a choice when I try to purchase this.

I just saw complaints and disappointed posts from others... I'm not going to risk it. Neither will I buy the Spyderco, since some were also disappointed in the scales they got, and returns are always a big hassle from Canada to the US...

BobrazI don't blame you, there is no guarantee on if they will look good or not. Personally I think drop did well and underplayed the scales that it would come with, but I could have just had a lucky outcome. Still need to actually take the time to upload photos of the thing

Anyone has the Spyderco Chapparal with Raffir scales? This drop made me aware of that knife and I wanted to know if anyone had comments about the Spyderco? (hijacking the thread a bit, I know).

I totally agree, but there are no such stores that I know of in Montreal, sadly. 99% of my options are usually online retailers... Unless I find a kind soul that would not mind buying me one in person and sending it to me. A hassle at best.

BobrazI have the Chapparal with the raffir scales. It's a great knife. A real slicer and very comfortable to use. The raffir is beautiful and very unusual. Every scale will be different. The raffir does scratch. but the scratches on mine are very faint and don't detract from its looks. If they ever become noticable, I'll use a little toothpaste [a very mild abrasive] to polish them out. I have heard some complaints that the backlock is stiff. I haven't had that problem. but I Bought it on the secondary market and it was already broken-in. Nick Shabazz has a very good review of the Chapparal raffir on youtube

erickongPandemic ➡️ people stay home ➡️ people have too much time on their hands ➡️ people browse the internet for hours at a time ➡️ people end up buying too much shit ➡️ Drop's sale grow by leaps and bounds ➡️ customer service gets bogged down with all kinds of requests... But still, if someone has a missing item after 8 weeks, perhaps they should have some kind of priority? I think I'll avoid buying more stuff for now, let things quiet down a bit.

Once again, they advertise the upgrade version along with the base price. I bet some of y’all still think it’s accidental, and ok, too. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think Drop just gets lazy with it. It would be hard to not notice the price, due to the default (from what Ive seen) oftentimes being the cheapest option/first one and you would then have to click the other one that has the price increase in the name

I met a guy who had the Spyderco Chapperal with Raffir scales and I thought it was gorgeous. I didn’t even know what Raffir was. When I saw this drop, I immediately searched for reviews on the knife and the company. I bought the blue and brown Mamba. Then I bought the Penguin from another site. That knife is so badass! I just know the Mamba will be a great addition to my collection.

dwilsonHi, it's seem that Raffir is a Danish Trademark whom do stabilized wood, or do composite material (bronze, gold, silver in resin) you could discover their products on their website https://raffir.com

Been meaning to pick up a raffir handle. Kinda wild that the CF version is cheaper. I really had to gut check how much I wanted the raffir and until I realized the CF was at least as likely to be like Ganzo and CJRB CF -- heavy on resin and thus inexpensive for CF but only a couple grams lighter than G10 per scale -- as the better kind, it was a near thing. Curious about the blue raffir but had to go with the bronze.

BobrazEh. It looks badass but I'll probably wait and grab it on another model of knife. One of these is enough, considering the stiff works and the funky blade coating. Happy to own one, don't need two. If you get one, snap pics tho.

Well let me add a positive vibe here as an owner of the Copper / Bronze Raffir model. Gorgeous knife! Fast glassy action. And at $75, it’s a steal from what I paid for mine last Spring ($120). I did own the Spyderco Chapperal and was very disappointed with the dull looking Rafirr. Returned it and found this one. Now THIS is what Nobel Raffir is suppose to look like.

glennacIf that's what the brass and bronze looks like in natural light.....they need to fire whoever to the product pics here. Looks like a whole different knife (in a good way)

KavikWhite Mountain Knives is where I picked up mine. Different pics there. After my experience with the Chaparral, I was stunned at how beautiful this one was when it arrived. https://whitemountainknives.com/qsp-mamba-pocket-knife-raffir-brass-bronze-handle-plain-black-satin-finish-edge-111-b/

So, the $60 knife is not $60, but $73. Same old MD bs

The one on the main page, with the $60 advertised price, has the optional handle material that’s an extra $13.

SefaliRight. Thought about ordering it for a few seconds and then saw the actual price. And I am still waiting on the Pelican from January so, no go.

Not sure about this one. I do really like the brass and bronze handle. Only other place I see it is on a Spyderco Chapparall but that knife is too small.
