Anyone has the Spyderco Chapparal with Raffir scales? This drop made me aware of that knife and I wanted to know if anyone had comments about the Spyderco? (hijacking the thread a bit, I know).
BobrazIn the previous drop that offered what you are interested in, there were people disappointed in the pattern they received. The advice was to get this in person at a store so you could inspect the pattern - the same applies to any raffir
PNWNativeI totally agree, but there are no such stores that I know of in Montreal, sadly. 99% of my options are usually online retailers...
Unless I find a kind soul that would not mind buying me one in person and sending it to me. A hassle at best.

BobrazI have the Chapparal with the raffir scales. It's a great knife. A real slicer and very comfortable to use. The raffir is beautiful and very unusual. Every scale will be different. The raffir does scratch. but the scratches on mine are very faint and don't detract from its looks. If they ever become noticable, I'll use a little toothpaste [a very mild abrasive] to polish them out.
I have heard some complaints that the backlock is stiff. I haven't had that problem. but I Bought it on the secondary market and it was already broken-in.
Nick Shabazz has a very good review of the Chapparal raffir on youtube
