Not BAD but not great.
The Kershaw Skyline is my absolute favorite knife and my standard to measure others against. So by comparison, the good is that this knife has a nice grind and a slightly straighter tip if you like slicing and find detail work. The bad is that it’s needlessly thick and heavy adding bulk to your pocket with no really benefit. The thin pocket clip is less stable and can be mounted for tip down carry and the blade lacks a flipper which limits opening options and makes the grip much less secure. It came reasonably sharp though not ready for shaving but that was easily remedied. All in all not bad for the price but I probably wouldn’t recommend it for anyone that isn’t extremely concerned about price.

kristofoakleavesI pretty much agree with your review of this knife, especially the thickness. But the Skyline is your favorite knife? The Skyline is... Not great. There's probably a couple dozen inexpensive Kershaw knives I would pick before the Skyline. How many knives do you own? Any higher end ones?

ponagathosWhat’s not to love about the skyline? As a lightweight simple edc it’s perfect for its price (I paid $30 or so for each of mine). The steel isn’t fantastic but it takes a wicked edge super easily and holds it reasonably well. It’s not particularly tough but it’s stupid light, comfy, secure, simple, and reliable. I can improve on any aspect but it always comes at a major cost for limited return so imo it’s not the pinnacle of knives but it’s an ideal standard.

kristofoakleavesI wanted to like the skyline. Maybe the one I picked up was a bad apple but the action was just terrible. Also did not like the way it feels in my hand but that is obviously more subjective. Or maybe as simple as I owned a leak, blur, thistle, knock out and probably a couple other Kershaw knives before the skyline and like all of them better.
