I've decided I just can't do it. Maybe I'll get a chance to demo a dual-mono or fully-balanced setup with the CMA800R at the next meetup, but I think for the moment my plan is to get the BHA-1

TristorAfter doing a bit of reading up on the BHA-1, it appears that it isn't actually fully balanced end-to-end? It takes balanced XLR in and outputs balanced XLR, but in-between input and output the signals get converted to SE, processed, and then back to balanced.
Will that make a world of a difference? Idk, but just wanted to mention it since two CMA800R units would actually result in everything being fully balanced end-to-end (albeit for a significant amount of additional money). From the very same reading, though, everyone does say very nice things about BHA-1.

yzapMy understanding is that while it's not internally balanced, it's a dual-mono configuration between the input and output stages, which is not really the same thing as single-ended. I haven't actually looked at the schematics myself though. It definitely bears more investigation, but I don't want to open up the demo unit as I doubt they'd look kindly on that. It sounds great though.
