https://support.rab.equipment/hc/en-us/articles/115004387085-Sizing-Guide-Men Size M Chest 40" Waist 32" Arms 34"
The biggest issues with the Rab athletic fit, which i found : - you are normal size: after heavy meal the waist / belly show - if you are to big for your size, then the arms will be way to long
I normally use a L for the baselayer and a xl or l for the outer/mid like flux, al, nculeus.

Compared to the recent “Rab AL Pull-On” drop, is the main distinction that the present item is a merino wool blend? Anything else to note??

Thanks for commenting on the fit. My chest size is 40" so according to the size chart I should take size M.
I understand these are slim fit, so I guess even if I take size M it's gonna be body hugging? Since you use it as a base layer, did you size up or get your usual size?

jcwcAs a base layer, tight is better; unless you’re using it as an ‘only layer,’ in which case I would size up. In my case, my chest size (not waist size) forced me to size up on the AL drop.—the waist is too large, but I’m typically using it as a mid or outer layer.
