tom_mI guess. The piezoelectric driver handles the high frequency, so it could go higher than usual full range driver. That said, those high frequency is not audible though. But yeah, the TWF41 extension is pretty good I think. :)

jeffriDo you think this is a worthwhile set to pick up? Or do you think there's something a little cheaper to be found that is almost as good or is as good? ...and I know you reviewed the 41's, but I'd be looking at the 31's.

tom_mI never heard TWF31, so I don't know how it sounds. I echo @nangryo description of the TWF41 sounds and so I think his description of TWF31 should be accurate too. :)
As for worth it, yes, definitely. While I have never heard every IEMs out there, we once have discussion with my local audiophile community friends and they were all agree that it is difficult to find midrange like TWF41 in this price point.
The other IEM I owned that competes in this price is FX850 from JVC. This one has powerful bass, slightly V-shaped sound. I consider TWF41 to be a class above it in everything but the bass. It all comes down to preference though, FX850 is a lot of fun, but TWF41 is very nice for relaxing. I still owned and loved both. :)

jeffriHave you listened to Dunu's Titan 5? Or DN-2000? How would those compare? They are far cheaper...But if the quality here is better, I'm ok with spending more. I'm looking to replace a pair of old Shure SE115's (looking for an upgrade).

tom_mI heard one Dunu headphone in recent meet, but I forgot which model it is so can't help you there. The Dunu I heard is bright sounding, to the point of being quite harsh to my ear. But again, it's a very short impression with model that I have forgotten, so please take it with a grain of salt.
Another IEM to consider that I owned is Echobox Finder X1, it's cheaper at $199 but has the best build quality out of all IEM I owned (FX850 is close second). It's very small, comfortable and sealed extremely well. The sound is on the brighter side, midrange is quite thin, sometime dry and harsh, but bass is powerful and hit with deep impact. It has 3 different tuning filter to customize the sound too, although it mostly affect the bass region.
Anyway, they were all different sounding and has different trade-off. X1 is my on-the-go cans due to the form factor, but when I'm sitting and relaxing, I'm reaching for TWF41. I loved the smooth sound of it. :)
