Glen8I would have no issue at all wearing a ladies watch if I had a 6" wrist size, it wouldn't even phase me. I have a couple of ladies watches that are a huge (for a ladies watch ) 38mm, with short bracelet just big enough to fit me (Oris Hunter, the men's is like 44 or something). Women's watches often have cool features like MOP dials and diamonds for indices. That doesn't mean the listing should fail to mention that it's a ladies watch, either that or they need to standardize putting the strap length in the specs, which is present in only a very few spec sheets that I've seen.
Glen8Yes, I agree, they should list the strap size. I honestly wouldn't know what size a "ladies" what strap would be. A quick Google search has results saying stuff like:
"For women, the standard is between 6 3/4 inches and 8 inches, depending on the style and manufacturer. For men, the standard watch band measures between 7 3/4 inches and 9 1/2 inches, again, depending on the style and manufacturer. Watches are manufactured to fit the majority of people."
But, different sites say different things, so I don't think there's really a standard. I have a 6.5" wrist, so even if they listed it as a "ladies watch" I still wouldn't know if it would fit me considering there's such a wide size range the strap could be. As you said, I think the better solution would just be to post the strap sizes. But, maybe Drop has data indicating that people who buy watches here end up putting their own strap and/or bracelet on the watches they buy.
often referred to as 'women', as that is what these models are, ladies watches, per the company site who is offering this drop, Ashford. And any random google searcch of one of the part numbers...
lol, yes it should be there, cruise through all their offerings, you'll recoginize about 50% of drops once you do, and when you see the prices get hiked the day before a Drop for the same thing, 2+2 and all that....
Glen8Ended up buying a Nixon watch off of there. It'll be my first metal band watch (I LOVE leather bands but wanted something more casual looking). Even after shipping and tax it was $12 cheaper than Amazon, so thanks for the site recommendation! =)
Lovely stylish watch, reasonable value for money and good movement. But that's where it all ends.
My last three orders appear not to have been sent, no trace DHL!! (I tried on five ,no less DHL internet addresses for tracking!!)
No reply to emails last 3 days, refunds removed from visa accounts, then miraculously turn up again after I send emails!! but with no reply.
Well you might or might not get the watch, and when it gets too hard to solve the problems ,well unusually for Drop;( because initially they were very good to deal with): But now won't even respond to your questions by email, but they seem happy enough to keep your money. So buyer beware, order at your wallet's peril!!!!!
note: I have been a very good supporter and defender of Drop until now. The odd problem does happen but that good old number three, well that's were I draw the line. Something or someone has gone very wrong!!!!
Still after bagging them no emails. i guess i will have to get Visa involved.
