Mind-blowing Audio Experience!
Originally ordered this on Amazon for $99.99, but literally a few minutes later stumbled across it in it's final hours on Drop for $79.00 with Free shipping! I want to address the things everyone complains about the most: 1) Plastic housing: Yes it's made out of plastic, however it does NOT feel cheaply made by any means. Also there is actually a technical reason why it was housed in plastic as opposed to metal (& no it wasn't too be cheap!). Metal based housings have a negative effect on transmissions, as in Bluetooth 5.0! Thanks to the plastic housing this thing has insane Bluetooth range! It does state the standard 30ft range estimate, but in reality it goes considerably farther than that, nearly 50ft+! Also the plastic is not the thin brittle type either. 2) Metal clip: the metal clip is actually very useful, why so many people are dumbfounded by it's purpose is beyond me! 3) Power: You have the option of powering it off your phone using an OTG cable or it's internal Li-Po battery. Using the app you can set it to do either & it will remember the setting. You can also recharge it from your phone's battery, which is a quick charge BTW. Regardless of whether you're powering it or recharging it off your phone's battery, it is NOT a significant drain at all. Heck, you can even have it recharging & powering off your phone's battery & it's still a minimal impact! Ok, enough of that! This thing is a no regret purchase! It's packing serious hardware, the app allows for a level of control so granular it's unheard of! It has (2) Headphone jacks, (1) 2.5mm Balanced & (1) 3.5mm Unbalanced. It also supports LDAC on Bluetooth 5.0! It takes the music in at 16 Bit 96Khz & outputs it at a crystal clear, completely distortion free 24 bit 192Khz! I heard instruments that I had never heard before, in songs I've listened to a million times! No joke, the dual AKM DACs in this things pump out so much processing purity that you can actually feel the emotion & passion in the artist's voice! YES, IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD! Best part is, it's firmware upgradable & Radsone has actually already had 11 firmware releases, all with actual significant & worthwhile enhancements in less than 18 months! So, they are constantly improving this thing & the app along with it. I'm using it with a OnePlus 7 Pro, but it does support iOS too! Honestly even at it's regular price of $99.99, it's still an absolute steal! This device is worth so much more!

Brilliant little Bluetooth Amp! When I first received the Radsone I was very skeptical of its quality. It almost seemed toy like....something you would pull out of a Crackerjack box. However, after the first listen very impressed with performance. I have also learned to appreciate its form factor. The Radsone with downloaded EarStudio app can really pump out some high quality music. I have used with three types of iem’s. Shure SE846, ALO Dorados and Senn ie80s. They can drive all three very well. The Senn’s are the least efficient of the bunch and no problems with volume or quality. I also have the FiiO Q5 which sounds very similar using my iem’s. I use the Dorados with 2.5 balanced cables and maybe just maybe the q5’s have an edge on bass and overall soundstage but it’s so close it’s really debatable. The EarStudio app is fun to play around with when listening..especially when using in transit and killing time. The small size and feather weight of the Radsone is super convenient. It has a small clip attached to body that lets one put the unit almost anywhere. The q5 now feels like a brick in my pocket when I use it. Many features like customizable ambient mic that are not found in q5. This also can handle a NY to LA flight with all the waiting before boarding in the airport on a single charge. A great little accessory that is a must for the frequent traveler that is always thinking about going lean and light. Highly recommend.

The most successful purchase of the year!
Awesome sound in such a small box! Everyone to whom I gave this listen could not believe my ears. It is able to play the planar HiFiman HE400i and sounds more powerful than my A&K70. There are no questions about the quality of the wireless BT - it is impeccable. In general, this is the most successful purchase of the year!

Amazing piece of tech
The sheer amount of DSP options on this unit is amazing. My favorite function is ambient sound passthrough, which is a God send for when you want to listen to music and be aware of your surroundings as well. My only gripe with is is that in USB DAC mode, there is a 1-2 seconds of silence at the very beginning of starting an audio feed, meaning you'll miss the very beginning of whatever is playing. I've only tried it on 2 Android phones, and they both did this. It might be an Android thing though.

Love this little device
Amazing. Do not underestimate bluetooth sound, but make sure you are using AAC or AptX. To get the best out of it, it's worth using the 2.5mm balanced output. I use it to power HD650's with more than satisfactory results.

I've found that anything other than LDAC with this device doesnt sound as good as wired through my DragonFly Red. But with LDAC, I can't tell the difference even on my CA Andromedas and Koss ESP9XXs.

Great Amp
I have a couple of high impedance headphones and these make it easy to use them. It is so nicer to have Bluetooth connection for those headphones. It its easy to use and has great sound.

‘Thin’ and ‘listless’ sound quality
The sound on these is ‘thin’ and ‘listless’. Something with the DSP (changing filters didn’t help) results in “reference” sound tonality that is missing a solid body. FiiO Q5, iPhone 6 SE, and W5 have this fullness-of-body that the ES100 does not have. Difference is noticeable on K10UA and Hyla TE5B IEMs. YMMV, and maybe this specific sound profile is one that you enjoy.. Aside from hardware EQ, and longer battery where it matters, I do not recommend due to the lackluster sound profile. Balanced output is only relevant in cases of hard to drive transducers, and is largely negated by the high-power SE output setting. Don’t believe the marketing BS. Buttons are terrible and hard to use.

1) An iPhone has much more stuff inside; very little is related to audio. I have no reason to believe the audio component in an iPhone take up more room than the ES100. 2) The W5 is smaller than the ES100 and has a “full sound”. I don’t like the W5 SQ for different reasons - I might consider the W5 ‘muddy’. The ES100’s small buttons are better than the W5 ‘touch sensitive vibration’ interface and the ES100 has a much better app/features, so I’d pick ES100 > W5. Regardless, this shows the “size” is not what causes the particular signature of the device. Its a love-or-dislike with the ES100. Very few people seem to be in the middle.

Yeah, anything over 44.1k/16 but isn't really distinguishable to human ears (and super-high sample rates can actually be detrimental as even though higher frequencies aren't audible per se, storing and reproducing them can cause wave interference effects that manifest at lower frequencies). Even though LDAC is upscaling the sound to 96 khz/24 bit (which doesnt really do anything to the signal that's audible, what really matters more is that it has a much higher bitrate than AAC, aptX, and aptX HD, the psychoacoustic model seems to be better, and there seem to be fewer compression artifacts. For music with a high dynamic range, I do notice a difference between my MacBook connecting to the ES100 using aptX HD at 576 kbps and the same song played on my Android tablet which connects using LDAC at 990 kbps. I haven't tried AAC yet. Given all the codec options, there is no lossless bluetooth A2DP codec to my knowledge, so compared to a directly wired USB DAC, certainly could be instances where LDAC has a noticeable difference to unco pressed PCM.

great little bluetooth amp
Using it with multiple aims on the balanced 2.5mm output and it drives them all to a more than acceptable level considering the size and weight of the amp. Furthermore the range is just about the best I've ever experienced with small bluetooth devices. I won't even mention the application which has so many options one could play with it for hours... The bottom line is that this little device allows me to enjoy iems at work without the bulkiness of having to move around with DAP's or dac/amps. Great job Radsone!!!!

Great piece of kit
Surprisingly good sound quality! I also have A&K XB10 which also sounds very good, and both drive HE-400i planars up to the level I need. Comparing the two here's where I think Radsone is better:
  1. both devices are tiny but I find the buttons easier on the Radsone due to its square shape
  2. better shirt clip
  3. smaller volume level increments, especially with low volume settings needed for IEM
  4. LDAC sounds a tiiiiny bit better than aptX-HD, even though I could only confirm this with a very few recordings on Tidal. It's the 'air' between the notes.
  5. The control app gave me a surprisingly musical EQ. +2 dB on 30 Hz and 16 kHz. Adding some sub-bass is ALWAYS a good thing, right?
Only minor issue is that with LDAC the connection is sensitive. My Honor android phone and Radsone need to be close and no obstacles in between. AptX was more forgiving. I guess that's just because LDAC moves so many bits. Check my bright orange custom balanced short cable, just long enough to shirt collar! Compared to the phones the Radsone looks like a toy - but sure doesn't sound like one.

From eBay store https://www.ebay.com/usr/skyaudiocables in UK. They make custom orders so I got to pick the length, cable type and the nice bright color. Cost was something like 30-40 £/$/€. Highly recommended but I believe there are many such custom makers on eBay.
