I'm rather confused as to why this mini pad costs as much as an actual keyboard, except for perhaps the fact that it is made from a solid block of aluminum. Even then, I still do not feel that 120 USD is worth it for a mini pad, regardless of its construction, as the construction outside of durability concerns and perhaps appearance is negligible. Any explanations would be appreciated.
The main reason is that it is designed by RAMA, so it guarantees a great industrial design. But that's about it. Owning a RAMA product also gets you a "status" (to some extent) and a ton of upvotes on the subreddit.
The RAMA brand carries some weight in the enthusiast mechanical keyboard community, and it is synonymous with great quality and detail, so naturally it would cost more.
The best analogy I can come up with is Apple. Since they are known for making products with great detail and they are a reputable brand in the tech world , it is priced (a lot more) higher than other products on the market.
