Hey everyone,
We have an update on the Massdrop x Rama Works M10-B Mechanical Mini Pad.
Production for the mini pads is nearing completion and they’ll be shipping to our warehouse soon. There are a few things we’d like to bring to your attention, including an updated estimated ship date in late November.
Packaging: During the first round of packaging production, we missed printing it with Rama Works’s signature holographic treatment, so we’re in the process of remaking it to their standards. Once this is done, the fully-packaged mini pads will be shipped to our warehouse.
Color and Legend Variance: The Pantone colors used for the keycaps were 109C and 432C as specified by Rama Works, however, the production formulation of the resin resulted in a colorway that was not precisely to spec. In addition, while the final production legends are similar, they are not exact to Rama Works’s design.
We have the production units in-house and we think they look amazing. Please see an image of the final version below. We’re proud to work with Rama Works and think this mini pad will be a great addition to your collection.
We’re sorry for the extended delay and want to make sure we’re providing as much information as we can regarding the status of your product and when you can expect it to ship.
If you find the differences to be too far off from what you were expecting, please feel free to cancel your order via the Transactions page: https://www.massdrop.com/transactions.
JaleesaG@Duncan@JaleesaG It's been four weeks since the last status update, with no response from Massdrop to any of our questions about that update. Could someone please take a look through the responses and reply?
JaleesaGThe selling point of RAMA products are that they seem aesthetically pleasing and premium - bezels, anodization, form factor, weight, packaging, customer service.
the delays, lack of updates, rough anodization and color contrast destroyed the illusion of any semblance to RAMA
teckelSomeone needs to just create a way people can hop through a wormhole, shake hands, have a beer, and get on with things. Would solve basically all the world problems.
Said wormhole should also have a control panel created by Rama. Maybe with some of those rad PBT Milky Way keycaps?.,....
That's correct, each half is milled from a single piece of aluminium - with about 6 rejigging operations in total :) Much more time consuming and costly in comparison to a 10 second per part injection moulded commodity product.
This hobby welcomes with open arms anyone who believes they can make a better product for less money. Please get involved, make your words into action, and put out something great.
It happens all the time, and the hobby is the better for it. We are in the golden age of bespoke input devices, and if you aren't totally full of shit, you can make some money and be a part of it.
Also, rockets are cool.
Hi everyone,
Checking back in with an update on the Massdrop x Rama Works M10-B Mechanical Mini Pad. Due to the PCB issues mentioned in the early-August update, unfortunately, we’re now tracking for an estimated ship of mid-October. We apologize for this significant delay and we know it is extremely disappointing for everyone involved. We’re working closely with Rama Works to prioritize the completion of this item, get it in to our warehouse, and out to you as soon as possible.
Coming off of the previous update, we do have a few new production details to share with everyone. As of two weeks ago, the firmware has been confirmed and, with the PCB issues now resolved, full production is underway. In light of the PCB issue, many parts had to be remade, however we’re glad to say that the hardware for the Massdrop x Rama Works M10-B Mechanical Mini Pad is finished and is being prepared for shipment. Here are a couple of the latest production images:

Again, we are so sorry for the lengthy delay for this item. As a thank you for your patience, we’ve added a $10 credit to your account, which will be automatically applied to the next drop you join. If you don’t want to wait the additional time, you can cancel your order via the transactions page: https://www.massdrop.com/transactions Thanks again for your patience. We’ll be back closer to the new estimated ship date with more information.
JaleesaGWe could really use an update on this. If you're going to ship in mid October, then I'd expect you to have received most (if not all) of the parts by now. Have you received all the parts? Have all the parts at least been shipped to you? Have they finished manufacturing all the parts? Have they started manufacturing all the parts? Are any of the parts still undergoing additional design changes?
After a grueling almost 8 month wait, we’re finally here. The RAMA M10-A is finally launching! Since the beginning I’ve always wanted to hit a price point that would make it accessible to as many as people as possible - that’s why I teamed up with Massdrop to make this product a reality and to get it to everyone as affordably and as time efficiently as possible.
The M10-A is really a premium product, from it’s heavy weight to its monolithic structure - no detail was spared when designing this product from the ground up. Especially with Machine Industries working in parallel to make sure that the M10-A is as easy as possible to program and use.
I would not have been able to bring this product to the market without the immense support from members of the community. So thank you all for always been so supporting in my products, my designs and my work. The M10-A is only the beginning.
If you have any questions regarding the product, feel free to ask and I’ll answer it as soon as possible!
I messaged Rama and he told me there will be a separate drop in the next couple of weeks for a new PCB compatible with the M10-A, as well as the keycaps from this drop. (He said I could post that info here.)
I'm confused. Out of all the people who bought this, what percentage of people have actually gotten it to work? Why haven't we gotten an update? This is so frustrating and looks incredibly badly on both RAMA and Machine Industries.
Pretty packaging ain't shit when you can't even get the damn product to work.
hansvelasMine works for the most part. The only things that doesn't work well is switching to layer 2. It doesn't really matter because I just skip over layer two so I can still cycle.
sounds like they get the physical product out but leave you up shit creek on the software/support side after the fact, as anyone in the last drop able to get their programming sorted? how was customer support for you guys??
don't know if i want to spend $120 on a disassembled 9 key num pad only to find out that it can't be used due to no software support or half assed support....
what the deal here?
I think maybe they should offer the PCB for anyone who purchased it before, but it sounds like they admit to screwing up the first one in the description " This time around, Rama Works teamed with Wilba (who designed the Zeal60, Planck, and Preonic PCBs) to bring this one-of-a-kind tool to life."
zzzaacchhIf they were to offer the PCB for free, then that would sit better with me. I don't know of such a thing being offered, though? Your quote doesn't feel like enough of a "we fucked up" to me, at least.
