Designed by Rama Works, who you may know from projects like the M10-B mini pad and the Jamón and Oblivion artisans, this limited-edition keycap is designed to match Zambumon’s Nautilus Nightmares keycap set. Made from anodized aluminum with enamel fill, the 2.25u keycap has a radiant, glowing quality to it Read More
Great quality keycap, feels nice to use and sounds good as well.
I note many had fitment issues - this is a well known property of aluminium keycaps and RAMA even has a whole guide dedicated to addressing it https://rama.works/loose-tight-metal-keycap.
Those who say that they're upset an expensive aluminium enter key doesn't fit as well as their cheap plastic keycap set, you need to understand that plastic keycap stems are manufactured slightly smaller, and they actually expand as you place them over a switch stem, which allows a snug fit. Aluminium cannot expand like this, so it's much more preferable to have slightly larger keycap stems that users can modify down to size. Going the other way and making them smaller (ie the same size as plastic keycaps) will cause shaving of the stem as you shove it on.
A lot of negative reviews for something Rama has a page on their site dedicated too.
https://rama.works/loose-tight-metal-keycap it's there.
I tightened mine and it fits my zeals just fine. It's a nice cap, I was kinda sad when I first tried putting it on too, but it makes sense to leave it loose so you can tighten it to fit your switch stems.
Doesn't sit well on North/South switches. The key itself is well done but when it can't be used to fulfill it's purpose, it becomes a piece of non functional metal. http://imgur.com/a/k21Tndx Check this out for how well it fit on my switches.
ehou333Nope it's either really poor QC or something else. If the expectation is that we are going to need to use saran wrap to make these keys work, it should be stated in the terms of the drop.
Keycap is non functional, stems are too shallow, and does not fit a few keyboards i have. I am unclear what compatible keyboards the Devs tested this on as this clearly not a functional design. The stencil is fine the material used feels solid but the keycap stems are too shallow and does not fit onto most keyboards , i have amongst the DROP keyboards, a Corsair, a WASD , a Drevo , Varmillo keyboards MX units and none of these would fit correctly , wobbling and easily dislodged from typing.
Unless RAMA comes back to me with a free ( or at least allowing me to purchase as a replacement sans postage ) High Profile replacement which would fir a standard mechanical keyboard , this would be the last i would ever purchase from them.
Do not recommend.
The almost $100 enter key, doesn't fit Cherry Stems unless altered.
Was this whole release just botched? I have never had this issue with any RAMA caps, and their answer was to "read this guide, stick something over the stem holes (like tape) and shove it on your switch. Problem solved!"
Uh, no. Cherry stems are the standard, we should not have to alter our keys to make it work as it should. In my opinion, this is strictly just shitty quality control by RAMA and their team.
Here's a video showing you how shitty it actually is: https://imgur.com/a/FDbq5AI
chasewentzExactly. I cant believe everyone is saying don't complain just do xyz and some other extracurricular bs and boom! fits perfectly! I have bought many keycaps. And some of them were extremely low quality(THEY HAVE ALL FIT MY KEYBOARD THOUGH). But this rama keycap takes the damn cake. Legit rip off lol.
I put this on a Drop Alt with Drop Holy Pandas and it doesn’t fit at all. I figured it could just be a little loose but it flies off in the course of normal typing. I guess I’ll be trying the tissue paper or Saran Wrap tricks, but I’ve never had this problem with an artisan key cap, much less one that was as expensive and took as long to arrive as this one.
This is my first and last Rama's keycab, and it does not fit. I ordered Rama's Nautilus R2 and Rama's Olivia enter keys. I hope these problems will be solved in the future.
This does not fit corsair k95....60 bucks down the drain. Looks like many people have this issue where it won't fit in place on their keyboard. Imagine spending 60 bucks and waiting 7 months for it to arrive...SAD
I also have issues with it not touching the north/south switches. But the stem "holes" are way bigger than standard on mine so it doesn't even attach. If I put it on and flip over my keyboard, the key cap falls out.
