Anyone consider "swap[ping] titanium for G10" to be an upgrade? 'Cause I sure don't. But I'm also very tolerant of heavy knives, so maybe I'm in the minority? Or at least in a majority that's not as ubiquitous as I think? G10 is fine; sometimes it's done really well, but excepting zirconium, which is outlandishly expensive to use for the whole body of a knife (though I have seen a custom or two that did it), I consider titanium to be the ideal, and therefore premier material for a knife handle and/or liner. And after that, I prefer a single-piece, aluminum build; like, say, the one Strider I own, or my Microtechs OTFs...and folders, now that I think of it. The only time I view G10 as an improvement is when it's used for scales on a stainless steel liner, as those can and should be quite thin; G10 beats the heck out of, for example, FRN on a Spyderco stainless frame. But Spyderco has their own very distinct style and design strategies, and I don't think they fit very well into comparisons with many other companies (also, as far as I can tell from their prices, Spyderco believes G10 is a rare material, and titanium and platinum are the same metal). So am I the only one who read the description and thought "G10 an upgrade over titanium--what the hell?"

HatuletohI think their wording is wrong, it's G10 to titanium from the specs.

HatuletohPretty sure it's just written incorrectly. It should have said "the handle on this model swaps G10 for titanium." Judging by the fact that neither available versions appear to have G10 handles, and the choices are "titanium" and "carbon fiber".

Hatuletoh@ecoleman and @Cogsworth already clarified their bad wording, but I personally don't like heavy knives. I wear the same knife from long pants to golf shorts or gym shorts up until the time I go to sleep. Anything heavy won't feel comfortable. But that's just my use case and it doesn't help that I can't carry a knife more than 3" to work too.
