Real Steel S5 Metamorph Titanium Front Flipper Knife

Durable and streamlined, Ostap Hel’s S5 Metamorph knife design for Real Steel is great for tough tasks and tight spaces. Featuring a slender 3.6-inch blade made of premium S35VN stainless steel, the S5 holds a great edge through thick and thin. Rather than a traditional flipper tab, the knife employs a front flipper, which opens similar to the way you’d ignite a lighter. Once open, the knife is rock steady, thanks to the built-in titanium frame lock. Titanium scales are stonewashed for an understated look, while the satin finish on the blade adds a bit of welcome pop. While the knife looks great baring all, it can be carried by way of the deep-carry stainless steel clip on the right side.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (pioneer of the integral frame lock), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process known as Crucible Powdered Metallurgy, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
