CorgiBotMassdrop is an online community of enthusiasts, and there are many people - on Massdrop and beyond - that are very passionate about raw denim. There are several huge websites devoted solely to this topic, and there are plenty of people out there that will happily spend several hundreds of dollars for a pair that they will wear for years.
Raw denim isn't for everyone, but that doesn't mean that anything over $100 is a bad deal. Some people spend hundreds on mechanical keyboards and headphones here, and although I don't understand it, I understand their passion for the product. I'd encourage you to learn more about this product and raw denim in general before voicing your frustration here; there are many resources that will help explain why people are so passionate about it. Here are just a couple:

Are their any pictures of faded pairs to see how the green cast looks when it actually starts to come out?

So if I wear 31" Levi's and I want to get one of these...... do I get 30" or 28"? I don't really understand the vanity sizing lol.

WN49Vanity sizing is present in these just like it is in a pair of Levi's, there's nothing really different about it. Just use the measurements provided and compare them to a pair that fits you (see my previous comment for more info). My hunch is that you'd want a 30, but check that against your measurements.

Can anyone compare these to Uniqlo's selvedge? I have a pair I bought for $40, it's already been about five months of regular use without washing and still seems strong to me. Will wash them in Feb I think. Since these aren't 16.5oz, what's the difference? The fact that these are made in the USA by hand?
Also, Uniqlo had a limited edition line, "pure blue Japan", whose selvedge offerings were 16.5oz I believe, at about $60 a pair.
/sincerely curious

Thanks for the reply. About denim weight, I did not mean to say that uniqlo is 16.5oz. I just meant that since these aren't 16.5 these are the same weight as the uniqlo jeans. So yes construction quality and durability was what I wanted to compare. I think I'll pass for now, I want to see how well the uniqlo pair lasts. I wear it quite extensively and I don't really notice much wear. The distress patterns have started forming too now, I want to see how these wash and bleed.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do prefer a slightly slimmer silhouette myself, but these are more than $100 more than the Uniqlo pairs. I can't justify the investment for my individual case.
Btw I don't know if you guys remember me from other forums but I've been going complaining about a lot of my orders on the forums. Just wanted to say that eventually things have turned out nice and although massdrop support was slow, admittedly due to high volumes after Christmas, my issues were resolved. So, +1 for support.

Sanforized or unsanforized?

LeezhunjinSanforized. This isn't a "shrink to fit" denim, so you should be fine ordering whichever size looks best from the chart .
