Designed without the 10 function keys of its predecessor, the Red Scarf II+ Ver.C is slightly smaller than the second iteration of the popular Red Scarf custom keyboard. Like the rest of the Red Scarf II+ family, it’s modeled after the IBM Model F and has several variants. This build-it-yourself kit—featuring a unique 68-key layout—consists of a PCB, aluminum case, aluminum plate, and aluminum feet. All of the aluminum components are CNC’d and anodized. The board is not only fully customizable but also fully programmable, allowing users to utilize the layout as they see fit.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of color for the anodized aluminum case, feet, and plate (Black, Gray, Red, or Silver). You’ll also have the option of adding the Essentials Pack (PCB-mounted Cherry stabilizers and Mini USB cable) and a set of switches (Gateron, Cherry MX, Zealios, or Zilents). Pricing will vary depending on your selections; see checkout options for more details.
The Red Scarf II+ Ver.C allows for customization of the RGB underglow lighting. The acrylic bottom allows the RGB LEDs, which are easily controlled via remote, to shine through the bottom of the board and reflect off your desk. With a simple click of the remote, it’s a breeze to change the lighting modes and colors on the fly, without the need for any complicated programming.
The layout consists of 68 keys, arrow cluster included. The modifier keys can be configured in a variety of ways, allowing you to fine-tune the layout in either ANSI or ISO. Should you choose to reprogram the Red Scarf, you can do so via tkg.io.
