I received my RS96 III board yesterday, soldered some switches and tested it. Until here everything's fine. Then I tried to build my own layout, but impossible to make this keyboard recognized as a printer in windows. In either EEP or HEX mode the keyboard is recognized as "RedScarf HID EEPROM" (Yes I hold escape). In normal mode however the keyboard is well detected as.. a keyboard. What should I do to recognize it properly as a printer ?

Hey there, I had the same issue as you. Rather than doing the printing method, I followed the online flashing method found here: https://kairyu.gitbooks.io/red-scarf-ii-plus-user-guide-how-to-custom-layout/content/online_reflash.html. Though it is for the Red Scarf II+, it worked for me when I selected Red Scarf III. Just follow the steps for "Reflash Layout". You do have to use Chrome. All I can use as proof it works is that I am typing on my RS96 right now.

I had the same issue. Put your board into flash mode and the use the burn .eep feature on the TKG site instead.
