Nothing about nib size? A rather important detail for a fountain pen, no matter the price.

No I dont have any proof. But usually if a nib is German made it will say so in the mass drop bulleted description. Also, in my experience, only Chinese nibs say that they’re 18k gold plated. Thirdly, many nibs are made In China, and the *tipping material* is made in Germany. That‘s The case with most “iridium point Germany” or IPG nibs. Having said that, I’ll check out regal’s website and post a follow up if I believe im mistaken.

Beware ... that looks like a Chinese nib to me. I might buy this pen for half the drop price or less, but certainly not $43.

Regal is a Taipei company and their homepage says that nibs are made of Iridium made in Germany.

kimwookI’ve checked out their website and I’m not convinced I’m wrong. I’ve owned a couple regals, back when I was a noob, and they’re of no better quality than your average Jinhao—just more expensive. All of their pens use exactly the same #5 nib, and I surmise that it’s the same Chinese steel/german tipping material situation as I described in my comment above, despite what regal says on its website.
