Product Description
Founded by two American lawyers whose world travels inspired their affinity for handcrafted goods, Res Ipsa got its start crafting colorful loafers made from vintage kilim rugs. And while the company’s loafers have expanded to tweed, and its product line now includes travel bags, Res Ipsa still sources its wares from the places that make them best Read More
Awesome. They sold out in my size on their website in this exact shoe. Excited that I can still get it. Size down or go with normal shoe size? Also is the same tweed as the shoes on your website. Those look fuzzier than these?
AnAcuteStyle@AnAcuteStyle These loafers fit true to size but we recommend that you size down if you typically wear a half size. We are using a different tweed mill for the fabric for this drop. The Black Watch fabric we used for the loafers on our website is actually a little fuzzier than the tweed we are using here, and a nice side effect is that for the loafers on this drop the Black Watch tartan is more clearly defined to the eye.
ResIpsaThanks. I definitely like that the pattern is clearer, but man I do love that Harris Tweed texture. I'm still in though. I'm very excited about getting these and a such a great price. Love those herringbones too.
Ironpeddler@Ironpeddler, these shoes are standard width (D), but our standard last runs a little on the wide side. Because of the fabric upper construction, we find they stretch a bit as well. If you have a seriously wide foot and have a hard time wearing standard-width shoes it might be too tight for you, but otherwise you should be ok.
Welcome Res Ipsa to Massdrop, everyone!
I've been chatting with Josh and Odini for a while about this project, so I'm excited to be launching these exclusive loafers at a great price. These have been a big hit in the office ever since they showed up last week!
On sizing: I'll let the Res Ipsa guys chime in as well, but here are my thoughts. These run true to size, so take your normal size. If you are unsure or in between sizes, it's better to size down as the fabric is flexible and can stretch.
One last thing: As the page says, the order minimum is 30 units. That said, if we get over that quantity we can introduce a new material - brown herringbone tweed. That would need a minimum of 30 too, but if we hit the first 30 then I'll add this to the options. :)
