I bought a "retro gaming console" off of Woot.com 6 months ago...It was called RetroConsole w/ 600 Games, 2 Controllers $39.99. When it arrived, it was branded as a "Cool baby." It looks very similar to this one, in the sense of 4 buttons on each controller, and the shape/size of the pins for the controller cords. Yes, it has 600 "NES games." Keep in mind that it DOESN'T have Legend of Zelda, or Final Fantasy, or a couple of other favorites. But wait, "How does it have 600 games, then?" Because it has 8 different versions of games like Super Mario Brothers. "What, 8 different versions?" Yep. The normal version. And then 7 different cheap japanese or chinese hack ports that use different sprites for the main characters, and that's it. When you boot it, the first screen you see is a selection screen, offering you Chinese or English. Upon picking English, there are some tiles you can select, which offer you shortcuts to favorites, (example is the mario brothers shortcut, which offers you mario 1, 2, 3, and all of the weird hacky ports of them) or you can pick the full list of games, which isn't alphabetized, meaning you have to page through 20+ screens to get to the game you want. I bought it because I am a retro game lover, but I ended up letting my Niece & Nephew play Mario brothers on it. All in all, I'd recommend downloading and using an emulator rather than this, but if you're extra lazy, or only want certain games, or this is for a child, then go for it. For what it is, it DOES work and is of reasonable quality, just don't expect to be able to load your own ROMs, or play certain games, because if they're not included, you can't play them, and the "600 games" number is misleading. a stripped-down barely playable NES version of Mortal Kombat doesn't really count, y'know? For those who want still MORE of a review, there are plenty of YouTube videos for the NES console clones. I can't find the one I watched in my history, but the one I did covered the fact that there were "weird" games and attempted backports of newer games on here. Sorry for the harsh review, but I believe in managing expectations. If you want this as a novelty, then go for it, you can play Battletoads with Rash and Zits having Mario & Luigi heads, or something. If you want it as a true replica of NES games and their gaming experience, you might be disappointed.
