AndreNHow would you hit more than 6 keys on a numpad?

climbalimaYou don't have to do something like one finger per key. You can press the entire keypad with one hand if you want. The point is not that I want to use N-key rollover (though I can see people who use the numpad as a macro pad finding use for it) but that at this price point with N-key rollover missing you have to wonder if it is lacking somewhere else as well.

AndreNWell, since NKRO is a feature that has to be actively added, it would make sense that when considering whether to include it or not, they decided nobody would care. NKRO is really only desired on gaming keyboards, and still feels a bit gimmicky IMO

AndreNIt uses a bootmapper pcb, so we know what to expect from the pcb. It is a pretty tried and Tru firmware(I only use qmk though)

climbalimaI have yet to figure out QMK on windows. I find it a crazy beast for the layman who has no experience with coding. Last time I tried using QMK for the infinity ergodox it was a nightmare. I ended up installing so many things it led me to powershell and a whole bunch of other things. I ended up reintstaling my computer just to have a fresh start.
Now that I have my Revo, I’m afraid to go through that again. So my Revo is still in the box. My only excuse to delay confronting QMK is to wait for holtites to be available again. Seems like qmk is more friendly to things like Preonic/Planc. Oh and the world of github is like foreign country that I do not want to visit. 😂

rowieQmk is great for things with a 32u4. The infinity uses arm not avr, so qmk ends up being a whole thing. The Revo uses bootmapper firmware. Easy to set up on Windows. Has a guitar, and no flashing or command lines. Probably the noon friendliest firmware. I just prefer the power of qmk, but have not tried it on a non 32u4 board.

climbalimaOh ok that makes sense now. Wish I asked you before I played with QMK for the first time in the ergo. (Could of saved me from wasting lots of time). Yeah I wanted to use QMK because of those cool key comand setups. Oh well! But I’ll take your word and maybe I’ll tinker with it this coming weekend.
