Got mine today. It doesn't work. Any suggestions as to why?
Edit: just went back to it and it was really hot. It is pulling juice from battery but not illuminating.
LeadslingerSame here. I installed a freshly charged Amazon AAA NiMH and it didn’t work. I set the light down for about 5 minutes with the head definitely loose enough to be off and it burned me when I picked it up again. Once I got the head off I saw the o-ring had started melting.
@JonasHeineman you need to engage on this. It’s a potentially dangerous situation.
Leadslingerthe way it works is you put a battery in it, then twist the top on. you will see it on moonlight mode the lowest setting. then un twist and then twist back on again and it goes to medium settings. untwist and then twist back on again and it goes to high setting and repeat over again.
you may have it on moonlight and just cant see it lit.
the battery needs to be installed correctly and you have to use a certified battery thats legit from an authorized dealer, and also not every battery will work with every flashlight, so you may need to try a different brand.
also i think these take Li-ion not NiMH batteries? i used some generic AAA batteries from the supermarket. but the main page says " Eneloop AA" should work also, tho i think they mean Eneloop AAA? ill have to find my Eneloop batteries and try them. but i dunno where they are.
anonomousYou're correct. Eneloop AAAs are the correct size. While the sequence is Moonlight - off - Medium - off - High - off, the sequence does seem a little glitchy. I was wondering if the driver was actually programmable. Sometimes the sequence will be something like Moonlight - off - Medium - off - High - off after a brief flash, then a couple more off - off twists until it cycles back to Moonlight, etc.
chenrazeeUpon further investigation, I found it was the ill-fitting o-ring causing this issue. Every time I twisted the head of the flashlight, the o-ring would get twisted up and partially pushed outside of the head of the torch. I removed the o-ring (until I can source one of the correct size) and the flashlight works flawlessly every single twist. Moonlight - off - Medium - off - High - off... like clockwork.
anonomousI consider the flashlight as much a work of art as a utilitarian tool. As for design, I wonder if the o-ring recess groove might have been better placed flush with the flare of the battery compartment (ie: in the space between the outer surface of the head and the outer surface of the battery compartment, when the head is fully tightened).
anonomous Sorry for late reply. Seems I didn't get nitification of these. Thanks for your feedback, some work used the wrong bigger size o ring. If you don't mind, I can ship you a pair.
