At this price point, the Reylight is a great little host for EDC or inspection. The absolute best part is that unlike most of the production lights, it actually uses a really nice Nichia 219C 4000k R9050 (Hi CRI) instead of the usual poor light quality Cree XP-G/2/3 series. I emphasize this because high quality light tends to trump higher output, by allowing you to see more accurately with better depth despite the slight knock in output. The 219C series also has really low forward voltage, making these LEDs really easy to drive. This light will also use both 3.7V 14500s or 1.5V cells I personally use this as an inspection light when doing lathe work or wandering between the shop and house in the dark, excellent color rendition and easy on the eyes at 4000k.
The only real downside to the host is the choice to use a metal switch cover to accommodate a trit. I mention this because some might not like the wobbly switch cover. This would have been avoided if the light had been longer and the switch taller with more wall surface to stabilize it.

zulu4000k-5000k is pretty nice all around, I don't think many people could object to a well done 5000k 219C. It is a touch cold for night uses, but still much more pleasant than the horror blue the low CRI cool white (6700+) LEDs tend to produce. I think some people wanted to get away from warm light sources despite being easier on the eyes, due to the long association with dim incandescents on half dead cells.

BigGuy42The wobble can be fixed by making a very thin shim that sits between the button and the brass tail cap. Also take a couple of file swipes off of the plastic button end of the switch to make it a tiny bit less sensitive. After this, it will tail stand perfectly!
