These things are garbage. 3 of the 4 strands quit working within 2 hours of hooking it up, adhesive is crap. Do not buy.

Never could get it to work. Adhesive wouldn’t stick. Poor directions. A App that wants access to your network that you know nothing about. Stick with name brand. You can repurpose the led strips with another driver from somewhere like gear best or wish for a lot less.

Trash! Do not waste your time with this. First of all, it's a fun little DIY project just to unpack a box of these and the plastic you're left with makes you feel bad you ever even ordered these. After you've built the strip and you're ready to hook it up, forget about it - the sticky on these is useless. Last time I'm putting money down on something without a real name behind it on Massdrop, because this is trash peddling at best.

Not really a fan, got this a few days ago, took a little to set up, app is built well but changing colors manually is cumbersome and the scenes they have are lame and don't have any good aspects. Hooking it up to Google home doesn't work well at all. Voice control isn't working at all even though it's connected. 25 bucks is worth it for the app control but that's all, my older RGBs for my PC desk at under 20 with a remote was better though.
Might get one of these for Alexa's birthday. I hope she likes it. I think she's a bit jealous that Siri goes to work and on runs with me everyday. Alexa has started butting in when I'm watching TV. I yelled at her last night to stop. I feel bad for yelling at her, I don't know why I haven't apologised yet.
I could use these as a strip behind my TV, or to light up my consoles. Price is right. Hue strip not so much. Hue is mains powered though, and pretty bright.

So Massdrop is getting into the straight-from-China market of cheap electronics?

iothankWith these Chinese rebrands I'm not sure how much it matters if they focus. But googling it looks like Tomshine uses a generic app. Really these are probably dozens of companies that are really one. I'm just trying to find a reseller so I can find out a relevant review. I'm not willing to join a drop without some real world reviews.

Are these per-light? As in can I run a rainbow pattern across the strip?
BradenCurrahYou can tell from the contacts on the strip that these are not individually addressable. This strip has one channel per color for a total of 4 connections labeled "+" "G" "R" "B". A strip with individually addressable LED's would have "+" "-" and {DATA] as you need to send a whole set of instructions for each individual LED (usually something like [position][R value][G value][B value]. That digital control requires a more complex controller

How hot do these get if I use all of the included adapters? I am looking to replace above-cabinet lights in my kitchen (for which I am currently having heat issues), so I didn't want to just have more heat issues with these. I saw @vondrook4 comment below, but he indicated he was using an aftermarket power adapter.

Yep, USB cable only. It's unfortunate because that means they aren't super bright. And also it shuts off when your TV goes off which we didn't like because it's nice having the ambient light independent from the TV.

Just FYI to everyone, if this drop is for the Singhong LED strips, their app does not appear to work on Android 8.0. I could not get it to work on my end at all, while it works flawlessly on 7.0 and below.

HarmfulMushroomI have run into that a couple of times now. It's a security thing on 8.0. Set it up on a lower OS then it should work. It has for my other problem wifi pairings.
