Great for quick access on the go, RH Preyda pocket stones are the ultimate companion for avid outdoorsmen. Each stone is made from 100-percent natural Arkansas stone and comes with its own leather pouch. At just 3 inches long, they are small enough to easily slip into a coat pocket or backpack. For shaping the edge of your blade, choose a lower grit. For honing and polishing, choose a higher grit. To use a stone, simply add four to five drops of oil (recommended), align your blade at a 15- to 20-degree angle, stroke the blade three to 10 times, reverse the blade, and repeat the process.
Note: At checkout, choose between Hard Black Arkansas, Surgical Black Arkansas, and Translucent Arkansas sharpening stones. Each stone is available in two to three different sizes: 3 x 1 x 0.4 in, 4 x 1 x 0.4 in, and 4 x 1.6 x 0.5 in. Prices will vary based on stone and size. You can also add optional bottles of RH Preyda Honing Oil, available in 1 oz (+ $3), 3 oz (+ $5.50) and 4 oz (+ $7).
Founded in Chicago in 2013, RH Preyda satisfies an industry need for handcrafted sharpening stones with a range of applications. Quarried by hand in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas, each of its stones is made from 100-percent novaculite—a material known for its density and unique siliceous structure. Since novaculite’s prehistoric discovery, it’s been used to fashion arrows and axes, and today is used to make high-quality sharpening stones suitable for virtually any blade-edged tool.
