Combining the tried-and-true quality of Rhodia’s R notepads with the rich colors of the company’s Rhodiarama Webnotebooks, the ColoR Pads give equal treatment to form and function. Between the hard cardboard backing and the “Soft Touch,” head-stapled cover—which folds back neatly and evenly—the No Read More
Regular notebook paper bleeds, feathers, and has fibers that clog nib tines. If you want to use anything other than a Japanese fine nib and boring ink, you need decent paper.
I've been using fountain pens for almost fifty years and love that decent notebooks are finally available!
If my math is correct here - At the lowest drop price of $ 28.99 plus shipping $ 8.75 = 37.74. Making each pad about $ 7.55. The 6 x 8 1/4" CoLoR pads are available at ipenstore for $ 6.97 each. If you are looking to buy 5 in one purchase, you would qualify for free shipping. 6.97 = $ 34.85 total at ipenstore ( for U.S. addresses )
I like the drop, but it seems the price with shipping is actually about .50 cents higher per pad.
Bummer - Love Rhodia paper
I dont see a big price advantage in this drop. Even at $28+ shipping it works out to $35. If you dont care for the top page color, Amazon prime offers it at $7.09 a notebook + free shipping. And it comes in 2 days

Can we get a better price ?
ismelllikepoopThese used to be very hard to find at any US-based source - generally, you still won't see them in brick and mortar stores even at MSRP, and very few online retailers sold them. That's not so much the case anymore online at least - iPenStore offers a slightly better price if you order 8 at a time ($7 each, $50 minimum free shipping).
So I just checked price, availability, etc. and, for those living in CONUS, this looks like a great deal.
The only places I found that carried these (retail) were in the UK and, with the exchange rate, international shipping to the US, etc., these beat the lowest price I could find by about $10, shipping included.
Good deal if you like these pads.
Also, the paper has a phenomenal reputation for those who use fountain pens. AFAIK, it's Rhodia paper made on Clairefontaine machines, but I could be wrong on that.
Basically, this is a hard-to-find item at a very reasonable price - lowest price I've seen for delivery to CONUS.
Hope this helps anyone considering. But I don't think that's really necessary. It's the first day and the lowest price-point has been reached.
Great "get" by MD.
Cheers.

Who ordered all the raspberry and violet before anyone else had a chance?
I did.
Me.
EDIT: Seriously, though, the ivory paper is gorgeous. The Rhodia R line is better than Clairefontaine—well it is Clairefontaine, technically, but Rhodia makes better covers, and these covers are vibrant and buttery soft.
MarshallmallowlolA5 is a bit small for my uses as a student. Most U.S. notebooks are more around the A4 size (two A5 sheets together). However, I suppose the more compact size would be nice for quick note taking and tucking in a backpack. For me, these A5 size pads are perfect for letter writing but 5 packs is too much paper for me.
