The Rhodia Heritage Collection notebooks bring stylish neo-retro patterns to life. Each features a limited-edition cover design with your choice of binding, and inside, the French company’s famous paper with your choice of ruling. The checkered pattern is a variation on the grid pattern used by graphic artists and designers everywhere, while the Escher pattern is a tribute to the master of optical illusion. Finally, the tartan pattern offers a bold twist on a longstanding Scottish tradition.
Note: This drop is for two notebooks. At checkout, choose the binding (sewn or book-block +$5), ruling (graph or lined), and cover style (checkered, Escher, or tartan).
Rhodiarama notebooks stand out for their acid-free, pH-neutral paper. While other notebooks permit bleeding through the page, every Rhodia notebook comes equipped with 90-gram ivory Clairefontaine paper, whose glossy, smooth surface is resistant to feathering and lends itself well to fountain pens. Notebooks contain 32 sheets while book-blocks contain 80 sheets. You’ll have to let the ink dry a little longer than you would with some other paper, but trust us: The performance makes it time well spent.
Rhodia is named for the Rhône River that runs near Lyon, France, where the company was founded in 1932. Legend has it that the two fir trees in the logo symbolize the two founding brothers, who came from a family of paper merchants. A favorite among writers, designers, and artists, Rhodia makes high-quality paper goods that perform especially well with fountain pens, and its notebooks have earned a cult following.
