acriolloI've seen some mixed reviews for the "field notes" for those wishing to use them with a with a fountain pen. If "fountain pen friendly" is not on your list of criteria, then you actually have many more choices over the Rhodia notebooks, many of which are less expensive (except Moleskine).
For those wondering if the size and/or paper will work for them, you should be able to find the the thinner (ie. fewer pages) Rhodia notebook of comparable size (3ish x 5ish) at a Blick/Utrecht Art Supply store. It's about 1/2 the number of pages, you can't tear them out, it doesn't have the elastic band and the cover is a little different, but otherwise it's the same thing.
In other words, it's completely different except for the paper and page size, which are the same. There are only a few days left, but if you have a place that sells any Rhodia stuff, these staple-bound pocket notebooks are probably part of their selection. Cost is about 1/2 (per notebook) as the unlimited (I think).
Anyway, that's what comes to mind. As always ...
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
