ZilventHave you ever owned shoes with Dainite soles? It's the same as that (in other words, pretty grippy).

IanAndersonActually I haven't. I am trying to find a boot that will fill my spot as my first high-end boot. I don't like the rough fibers that on the outside, similar to those on the picture. That was what pushed me away from the drop the first time it was showcased. If I go with the Horween Buccaneer leather, will the outside be the smooth and the inside rough?

ZilventYes...Reverso is the flesh side of the leather while Buccaneer is the grain (outside) of the leather. Also, of note, Reverso is veg tanned and is virtually waterproof and you can pick up a slight hint of the salmon oils used in the tanning. Buccaneer is very similar to CXL but the color does not pull out/move as much after wear. Also, Horween lists this tannage as waterproof while CXL is not. http://horween.com/leathers/full-tannage-list/

riderbootSo based by what you are saying, the Reverso is more like suede with its rough, flesh side. Meanwhile, the Buccaneer is smooth and more like what I am accustomed to as calling leather. I like Horween leather. I have several stuff made of it and I enjoy every single one of them.

ZilventRight, the reverso is like a roughout suede, the buccaneer is similar to Horween CXL.
